QUOTE
though it sounds like something from an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
it's real!
This guy drives from Mumbai to Pune and decides not to take the new
expressway as he wants to see the scenery.
The inevitable happens and when he reaches the ghats his car breaks
down - he's stranded miles from nowhere.
Having no choice he starts walking on the side of the road, hoping
to get a lift to the nearest human habitation. It's dark and
raining and pretty soon he's wet and shivering. The night rolls on
and no car goes by, the monsoon rains are so strong he can hardly
see a few feet ahead of him. Suddenly he sees a car coming towards
him.
It slows and then stops next to him - without thinking the guy
opens the car's door and jumps in. Seated in the back, he leans
forward to thank the person who had saved him when he realizes
there is nobody behind the steering!!!
Even though there's no one in the front seat and no sound of any
engine, the car starts moving slowly.
The guy looks at the road ahead and sees a curve coming (remember,
this is in the hills and there is a steep, steep drop beyond the
curve).
Scared almost to death he starts to pray, begging the Lord for his
life. He hasn't come out of shock, when just before he hits the
curve, a hand appears
through the window and moves the steering! The car makes the curve
safely and continues on the road to the next bend.
The guy, now paralyzed in terror, watches how the hand appears
every time they are before acurve and moves the steering wheel just
enough to get the car
around each bend. Finally, the guy sees lights ahead. Gathering his
courage he wrenches open the door of the silent, slowly moving car,
scrambles out and runs as hard as he can towards the lights. It's a
small town.
Wet and in shock goes to a roadside dhaba, which is open, and asks
for a drink. They find some hooch and give him a shot. And he starts
telling whoever is in
the dhabba about the horrible experience he's just been through.
A silence envelops everybody when they realize the guy isn't drunk,
and is really frightened - he's crying and shaking. So they give
him more hooch and
talk about what they should do, whether to call the police or find
a priest, or what.
But just then two guys walk into the dhaba. One says to the other
"Look, - that's the guy who got in our car when we were pushing it." -

What a hillarious story! I was actually Rolling on the floor laughing and couldnt even write for five minutes!
OpaQue, it seems to me that these days you are actually getting lots of funny mails like these!
That was so unexpected and while i was reading i was recollecting a scary story my friend told me and then the last line hits you. Hilarious!!!
Thanks for the laughs
That was so funny! But I've never seen anyone push their cars up the hills.
But isn't the express highway now filled with scenery too?
Our car once got stalled at Kodai Kanal, and that was when I saw someone pushing the car, me myself.
I be he didn't look because he was too tired from walking or as it says, the rain was too heavy lol. Great story
LOLZ

The story can not be dismissed as a funny, hilarious or light in its essence . It is mysterious. But above all I feel aside from having a good laugh one could not over look the comment given by master_bacarra. .

When I read the subject of the thread, I thought the thread might have been about an act of kindness that somebody may have experienced while in India, but it turned out to be an email forward. I could tell before having read all the way to the end because I did read the email forward before. It is quite interesting though but the guy who got in would probably have figured out that the car was moving slower than it should be. The heavy rains in India do reduce visibility greatly, so the part where he could not see the two pushing the car is believable to some extent. I would expect the two to be upset about somebody getting into a car that they were pushing because it would make pushing the car harder with the extra weight.
at the starting the story was a little scary
but at the end that one line made it so funny
