I have sent my web site url to http://www.google.com/addurl/
And also I have sent my sitemap.xml to http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools
And I have added Google Analytics scripts to my each web page. http://www.google.com/analytics/

And then my sites homepage have been added in one week. One month later google bots have crawled all my webpages.
Google is ok.

I also add my website urls to Yahoo with this page https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/mysites
And now Yahoo is also ok.

It does not take long, but do not have any illusions, you must exchange links with a popular website related to your website subject, or else google algorithms will not index your website to the point of showing up your website on the top10 nor top50 results, that is the reality, i am sorry.

You can get inbound links to your website easy, very easy in fact, just use your head, i did and now i have my website on top1 for many years now, now there is not a website that beats me in the subject of free flash clocks.

My website is the first one, and the other search engines tend to show up the same results, google teaches them!

It usually takes 2 to 4 weeks for Google to index your site. Yahoo! might index it in 1 to 3 weeks. In order to improve your site's placement in the search results, you should list your site in some directories. Obviously you can pay to be listed in internet phone directories and pay extra to include your URL, but it's cheaper to find free directories. Here's a list:

Well, I honestly cannot remember how long did it take to crawl my sites at the first time. However now google bots crawl my site almost every day not exactly the same page but they are crawling and I have calculated from the data provided on the google site for developers and web administrators that google crawls my site in one week that is every page is crawled once a week. Since there are usually two new pages a week and I have also several of them changed each week.\

Also google is really OK I am not using yahoo however my site is crawled from them also and several other search providers bbut in the end since the contents of my site are basically computer based and computer geekz are usually using googlew as prefered search engine so it easily follows why am I obtaining the most results from the google itself.

I also have google analytics on my web site.

And one more thing that is important you have maybe forgotten to verify your web site and this might be the first thing to search if google is not crawling your web site. And check also robots.txt that there is not written maybe something to stop bots from crawling.

Best Regards

dienasty, to add your website url (website adress) to www.google.com is very easy, just visit the following web adress and then input the data they ask you to:

Google add website url
http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

i've never aqdded my url to google directly and when promoting any webpages, i have always gotten indexed by google within 5 days. goggle likes to find your website from links on other sites. that's the quickest way to get indexed. just posting your link on trap gets you indexed pretty quick. but that's ust to show up on google and has nothing to do with page rank

Does anyone know how to interpret Awstats correctly? Confused
How Long Does It Take For Google To Index Your Website?

Does anyone have experience with cpanel and awstats (advanced web statistics)

I am helping a friend of mine create and manage his website for a new film production company but when we look into the cpanel, it's confusing to know how many visitors are coming in. What's the difference between unique visitors and visitors total? Does unique visitors count people who have dynamic ips?

Thanks a lot.

Awesome, I want to thank you all for the information as well. I added my site last night and thought it'd be instant. I guess I just don't understand how the whole "crawler" thing works. Thought maybe it was bugged or just that my site wasn't popular enough or anything.

Will we still be indexed even if we are a PR0? And if we are not indexed is it possible for us to become PR1/2 right after being indexed due to the number of links that point to our websites already? I have quite a few linked towards me but am not sure exactly how Google counts all of them.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can be indexed even if your pagerank is 0; but help google to find your site by sending your url or backlink from another sites.

No, in search results the links going to your site does not effect on pagerank.

Let me write the basic of pagerank formula:
PR(yoursite) = (1-d) + d * ( PR(A1) / N(A1) + … + PR(An) / N(An) )
d:constant = 0.85
An: The page which has a link to your site
N(An): The number of links which are also going to other sites

You have a few links towards you, let's say it is three, than;
If all of thast site's page rank 0 => Your page rank will be 0,15 * 3 = 0,45;
If all of that site's page rank 1 => Your page rank will be 0,15 * 3 + (1/10)*3 = 0,75; (I thought that each website's has 10 links which are going to other sites).
By the way if each site's page rank is different from each other use the formula.

   Mon Aug 18, 2008    Reply

Wait, so this also means that theoretically you could end up with a PR of like 3-4 even if you are linked to nothing but PR0 sites, right? I know obviously it would be much, much easier to get a higher PR with higher links but I'm mostly confused because I have around 300 linkbacks right now and according to different sites I am still at PR0.

So this isn't related to me being un-indexed by Google right now though? And I already sent in my link, last night. Waiting for it to hopefully get somewhere. I just hate being a non-factor, :)

I am only writing what formula results says. But remember this formula is not using by Google. This formula was the basic of pagerank calculating.
No one doesn't know exactly what formula Google is using. They have lots of criterions or extra something in their formula.

I had my website all indexed in two weeks. Of course I had all my required SEO, or Search Engine Optimization robots.txt file up. The next step for you may be to compete for the first search result that turns out on Google, and other search engines, such as Yahoo, MSN and so on. Cheers.

Very true! Your site is always on top but have you noticed that it has been suspended.
Man you seem to be very good at this. Why don't you post a dummie's guide on the tutorial section. Or better still and such stuff on one of your sites. I'm sure many dummies will appreciate that.

I will try it, about analytics is the feature free or must be bought?
And then do you use any html guideline that must be used for google to crawl? like being said must used h1 tag, and so on? Do you know any url that tell us that so our site is indexed properly?
Thanks

Google Analytics is absolutely free. It needs only a gmail account, and gmail account is also free.
I only obey css and xhtml rules. Google loves css styles.

Check your site if validated css here http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
And check your site validated xhtml here http://validator.w3.org/

Have lots of indexes on Google,
Good luck...

Like one of the previous posts state, it takes 2 to 4 weeks for Google to index your site and Yahoo you're are probably looking at maybe 1 to 3 weeks - You need to get as many 1 way quality inbound links as possible to improve your site's placement in the search results.

Ensure that the inbound links are from sites which have a high Google Page ranking themselves as they will pass off some of the value onto your site. That's all I have done with my latest website www.Uberwebsolutions.Com and I have rocketed up the rankings now I use this approach, so give it a go.

It does not take long time. Mine was indexed in two days. But it takes time and a lot of work to get your website on the first page in your area of expertise :P. I'm working on my site being in top10 for some time and still have a lot to do :P.

I have had sites listed in under 24 hours and others that take weeks. The best plan is to get a high pagerank site to link to yours because it shows Google your other site is "popular."

Doing that (as long as the referring page is PR4 or higher) you can usually get listed within 24 hours even without submitting anything.

   Sat Oct 3, 2009    Reply

Google takes around three hours to add your URL to their database but he start to show two days later. I recommend you to use the Google´s add URL tool. Not use that sites when promise you to add your website to 300 search engines if you put a backlink to them.

When your website is up the Page Rank will be 0. So you will have to work a lot to scale positions and make your site a top ten for the keyword you are working. Making good content and optimizing the meta tags and the title you will can put your site in the map.

So it is a challenge to beat Google. Are you ready?

   Sun Oct 4, 2009    Reply

What exactly do you mean when you say "beat Google"? And by the way, meta keywords are next to useless, CONTENT is what will get you higher in Google.

Yeah, this one's right. If I remember right Google themselves even said meta tags have nothing to do with your inclusion/where you rank in their system. They said it is content only. But I'm wondering if this is just something they're saying to throw people off...

   Sun Oct 4, 2009    Reply

Beat google ? are you one of those black-hat SEO type ? What do you mean by beat google ? People are trying to get into their database. "Beat google" sounds like you're trying to get into google database and your link is not qualified to be in it. Is that so ? If so, get ready for penalty from google.

It takes more than 1 day to get index and not 3 hours. Even it sounds google indexed domain in 3-8 hours. They discard sites with scraper and duplicate content. This is not 2005-07 where any one can get indexed in hours. Their algorithm is changed. And sites are having priority for keyword authority. Now there is lot of competition for getting indexed. More backlinks (be it internal and external) counts for the guarantee that your site gets included in their database.

   Mon Oct 5, 2009    Reply

Actually, ditch all this SEO stuff... I have read a book that said that while you may get visitors to your site, more often than not they will just get out of your site as quickly as they came in with the "Back" button in their browser. It's as easy as that.

If you really want visitors to your site, you should go to our niche's websites and forums, contribute there, gain a reputation and put your website's link in your signature. It's a really good method of gaining visitors, and people that go to your site through there actually want to go to your site, unlike people that come in through Google that doesn't really know what they are looking for.

Of course, SEO is actually quite important if you want the occasion Tom, Bob, Harry or *BLEEP* (I don't really know this saying) to join into your site, but the main and the best way of getting visitors is to post at other forums, and post in them regularly...

Apparently the website domain name doesn't really matter either, though it may do you some help... But as you can all see, Amazon.com did beat Books.com, and so, the domain name isn't always the most important.

Just my two cents worth. :P

But I think that there is a site where you can index your site in fourteen different search engines. I really don't know which one it is though... you might want to do a search on that and check it out... :P

Yes dear friend even I have my site indexed over there. It took 3-4 days in my case and my site was indexed. It depends upon the method used to submit the URL also. Whether you have just added your URL or you have submitted your site map to google, through webmaster tools. By the way my personal suggestion is that you should go for a site map submition through webmaster tools. It will give you good results.

I was talking about meta keywords. Meta description is still quite important, as mine shows up right in my Google result.

And for all you wondering, it doesn't matter very much if your site gets indexed in 3 hours or 3 days. It matters when they get shown in results.
