[note=BuffaloHELP]Edited as reported. Please use proper English words.[/note]
but playing card is the most popular game for the mass groups of humen on earth.
Let me start with the fairly simple ones like:
Uno (and/or Crazy Eights)
Euchre
Blackjack
99 (I remember playing this many times, but saying the numbers in Japanese)
To difficulty level a tad, I also like:
Bulls**t (or "Doubt" as it is called in Japan)
Poker
And to end off with a complex card game where new rules are made and the duration could take hours on end, I gotta go with:
Mao
My mom plays cards every single weekend and she knows a lot of card games. I only know 20% of the card games she knows. I've been playing 'go fish' since I was three so I guess my interest in cards started young. My mom taught me many types of card games and some of them I can't remember. I am not much interested in cards lately, I think the last time I even played a deck was about a year ago... not sure at all... around Christmas time when we switched our living room around so we could fit in a tree I believe.
I'm not sure what its called though, I've always called it spud, but upon showing people how to play, they tend to think its called 'Sh*t head' or 'B**tard' Neither name I like.
Anyways, you get 3 cards face down, and 6 in your hand, picking 3 of those to go ontop of the 3 you have face down. One person then puts a card down in the middle, and you go around, having to go higher than the last card. If you can't, you pick up.
There are some other rules, 7 beat everything and reverse the order and are 'see through meaning they're worth whatevers under them' 2's beat everything, and set the value down to 2, 8 misses a go, you have to go lower than a 9, and 10 clears teh pile in the middle.
Um, simple really
Uno
and BS ^___^
and black jack is fun too
QUOTE (punkgamr13)
wow.. i cant believe that no one mentioned MTG (Magic the gathering)... its like THE BEST card game ever... its soooo fun... if u havent played it... do it now... theres SO much strategy and a LOT of people to play with depending on where u live... and its pretty easy to learn the basics so... just teach ur friends and ull all be fellow MTG players! For real!!!
MTG is the best card game wich they ever made, gameplay rocks and the graphics are really awesome. Only bad thing are the new rules, but oh well, gotta live with it.

they're almost the same but egyptian war is more complicated with sandwiches, 10s, false slaps, and how much cards you have to put down if you get a royal card or something. i havent really figured it all out yet but my guy friends play it a lot
Uno
Bulls**t
Blackjack
Texas Holdem
Solitaire
and alot more i just dont want 2 list them all
another favorite game is 7 card stud because the cards only you can see can help you win and i always win on that games.
thats all
Callum
And sometimes I also like to play solitaire and freecell on the computer.
So my favourite card games are:
BlackJack
Cribs
crazy eights
Too bad i have no one to play MTG with anymore.. It sure owned when i played it a lot.. ^^
I still have few decks left.. Now i just need someone to play against
Maybe the online games in Windows, are interestings too, but sometimes I get a partner with high skills, and unfortunately I lost that game, and |I became sad
Mostly I like the action games. The card games are too borings for me
Most people probably know what Rummy and Gin are but I will explain Egyptian Rat Screw (or Egyptian Rat [expletive deleted] as we call it around here).
Players: 1 deck : 2-3 players (any more players and you should add a 2nd deck)
Objective: Collect all of the cards.
The Deal: Each player gets an equal portion of the deck, all cards are dealt out (make sure no jokers are in the deck). Cards must remain face-down in a pile for the player to draw from.
The Turn: The first player takes the top card from their face down pile and places it face up in the middle of the table (the object is for no one to see the card until your hand is away from it.. including you). Then each player follows in a counter-clockwise sequence.
Winning: As stated, the object is to get all the cards. There are a couple of ways to do that. We'll start with the first:
--Doubles: When 2 people in a row play the same card, any player may "slap" for it, meaning whoever's hand is on top of the doubles when the hands stop slapping gets to pick them up (ex: two queens are played in a row by player 1 and 2 and player 3 slaps the doubles and picks up the whole pile).
--Face Cards: Now, when you put down a face card, the next player has a certain amount of chances to put down another face card or whoever put down the last face card wins the pile. The number of chances are based on the face card:
Jack - 1 chance
Queen - 2 chances
King - 3 chances
Ace - 4 chances (Yes, I know it's not a face-card)
(ex: Player 2 plays a King.. Player 3 puts down a 2 and then a Queen.. so Player 4 now has 2 chances to get a face card or player 3 gets the pile).
---
That's basically all there is to it. Keep doing all of that until you have all the cards and you're set. There's other little house rules and such that people like to add sometimes, here's a couple:
- Sandwiches: This happens when the 2 cards in a row are seperated by another card, thus making a sandwich that you can slap on to pick up the pile. (ex: Player 1 lays down a 4.. player 2 lays down a queen.. player 3 lays down a 4.. player 1 spots the sandwich and slaps the pile and picks it up)
- Slap-ins: When you go out of the game (lose all of your cards), sometimes you are allowed to slap back in. Meaning, you basically just sit there and watch for doubles (or sandwiches if you're using them) and slap the pile to get back in the game.
I've spent hours and hours playing 1 single game of that. Coming back from 1 card and winning.. it's a lot of fun. We don't use the sandwich rule around here often (honestly I don't think it's necessary and it just slows down this game of speed) and the game is usually too slow for slap-ins, but I've seen some crazy things in that game!!
Big Two is a little like rummy, only better.
Players: 2 - 4
Objective: To use up all your cards first.
The Deal: All the cards are dealt out. If there are only two players, the cards are dealt out into four piles, and the game can then be played twice without shuffling.
How to Play:
The person with the 3 of diamonds gets to start first, and play continues in a clockwise direction.
The first person to go can choose to play just the 3 of diamonds, or use the card in a combo, but the card must be played.
Play continues until no one else in the game can play something that trumps the cards last played.
Combos:
Doubles - two of the same card value.
Triples - three of the same card value. (optional)
Fives from lowest to highest:
- a run of five
- five cards from the same suit
- three of a kind and two of a kind
- four of a kind and one other
- a run of five cards from the same suit
The winner is the first person to run out of cards. Game play can continue, with the next person playing on the last card played by the winner, or if they are unable to beat that last card, with any card/combo of their choice.
Canasta can be played with 2 players or 4 players (2 teams). 4-player Team Canasta is just like regular 2-player Canasta, except that both members of the team contribute to a shared meld pile.
Step by Step
1. The Deal and the Play
Canasta can be played with 2 players or 4 players (2 teams). It is played with 108 cards, including 4 jokers. When played with 2 players, 15 cards are dealt. When played with 4 players, 11 cards are dealt.
To pick up the discard pile, you must be able to add the top card to one of your existing melds or immediately lay it down in a meld. You can lay down as many melds as you like before discarding.
2. Special Cards
3's Have Special Powers
Laying a Black 3 on the discard pile prevents your opponent from taking the discard pile for 1 turn, since you can't meld with a black 3 from the discard pile.
3 - 4 Black 3's can only be melded when the player goes out, and no wilds can be melded with Black 3's
Red 3's are never melded or discarded, but are laid down one at a time for bonus points. If you get a red 3, it will move to your Meld Area automatically, and you will automatically receive another card to replace the Red 3 in your hand.
2's and Jokers are wild. They can form melds with any other card, but they cannot be melded all by themselves. If you "meld out" (discard all of your cards) before your opponent, win the hand!
3. Melds and Opening Melds
Your FIRST Opening meld must be 50 points or more, with no wilds. You can't take the discard pile until AFTER the opening meld. As the game progresses, the points required for an opening meld increases, according to the chart below:
Player's score Points required for Opening Meld
0 - 1495 50
1500 - 2995 90
3000 or more 120
Minus Score 15
4. Freezing the Pile
FREEZING the Discard Pile
When a wild card (joker or 2) is discarded, it is laid crosswise on the pile and FREEZES the pile. To UNFREEZE, the player must make an opening meld and match the top card in the pile with a natural pair.
5. Melding Out
If you have no cards left after a meld or a discard, you "meld out" if you have at least one Canasta. Both players receive points, but the values of all the cards remaining in the losing player's hand are subtracted from his point total.
Values of all melds are also tallied, and players go on to the next hand until one player reaches 5,000 points or more.
If all of the cards in the pile are taken before someone melds out, play ends after the player who took the last card completes his or her turn. The hand is scored as usual except that no one earns a bonus for going out.
Throughout the game, each player in turn draws the top 2 cards of the stockpile OR picks up the entire discard pile. Then you discard one card. (You can hold really large numbers of cards in your hand if you pick up several discard piles.) To win, discard all of your cards before your opponent!
Like Gin, players pick up and discard on each turn in order to form melds. Unlike Gin, suits and straights do not matter in Canasta. Melds consist of 3 or more cards of the same number. Players lay their melds face-up on the table on their turn. When melds consist of 7 or more cards of the same number, these special melds are called "canastas." Canastas are worth bonus points.
2's and Jokers are wild. They can form melds with any other card, but they cannot be melded all by themselves. If you "meld out" (discard all of your cards) before your opponent, you win the hand!
You must have at least 1 Canasta to meld out. If your opponent goes out first, all of the cards left in your hand are subtracted from your score as a penalty.
Quick Tip:
Each Red 3 is worth 100 points. Collect Red 3's to increase your Rank and earn Game Award Badges!
IMPORTANT: You must complete each game in order to receive credit for your Red 3's! You will receive credit for your red 3's when either you or your opponent reaches 5,000 points.
Card Value in meld Value if left in your hand when opponent "melds out"
Red 3 100 (melds all by itself)
Joker 50 -50
2 and Ace 20 -20
8 - King 10 -10
4 - 7 and Black 3 5 -5
Card Value if left in your hand when opponent "melds out"
Bonus Points (scored at the end of a hand)
Natural Canasta (no wilds) 500
Mixed Canasta (up to 3 wilds) 100
Melding Out 100
Concealed Melding Out (opening meld revealed at end) 200
Each Red 3 100
All 4 Red 3's 800
In Canasta, rating points can be estimated by subtracting the loser's rating from the winner's rating and referring to the chart below.
The following is approximately how many points you can win or lose in a game if both your rating and your opponents' rating are under 2100 points. Higher point totals will receive fewer points for a win and lose fewer points for a loss.
Winners' rating minus losers' rating: Winners' rating adjusted by: Losers' ratings adjusted by:
400 points +3 points -3 points
300 points +5 points -5 points
200 points +8 points -8 points
100 points +12 points -12 points
0 points +16 points -16 points
-100 points +20 points -20 points
-200 points +24 points -24 points
-300 points +27 points -27 points
-400 points +29 points -29 points
Tips and Strategies
If you would like to play against a computer opponent, choose the tab of the Skill Level you would like to play. The computer opponents on Social and Beginner tabs have the same skills as a human player at beginner level. The computer opponents other tabs are increasingly skillful. The most skillful computer players are on the Master tab.
Try to pick up the discard pile. Don't meld unless it helps you pick up the discard pile. The person with the most cards often wins.
Make your opening meld as small as possible, and try to be the first to get the discard pile.
Discard cards that are only worth 5 points (4 - 7) and collect high-scoring cards.
Hoard special cards like Black 3's, Jokers and 2's and use them strategically to freeze the discard pile and/or increase the value of your melds.
Don't get caught with wild cards and high-value cards in your hand when your opponent melds out - if it looks like your opponent is ready to go out, add your wild cards and high-value cards to your melds.
Watch what your opponent melds and discards in order to avoid discarding cards that will help your opponent build canastas or pick up the discard pile.
Click the Ctrl key before clicking one of your cards in order to select all of the cards of the same value. Click the Shift key before clicking your cards in order to select every card in your hand.
JACKPOT
If you win the game, you or your team will also get a Jackpot Spin. This will give you either extra tokens or the current jackpot as a reward for your outstanding play.
The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself!
If the Jackpot Spinner lands on the word "JACKPOT," you'll receive the current Jackpot amount. The current Jackpot amount, which gets higher every second, is shown on the left side of the game.
To claim your Jackpot, you must fill out the contact information and conform to the eligibility requirements listed in our Prize Rules.
Game Options
If you are the first player to sit down at a table in the Table Selector screen, you can customize your game in several ways. If you want, you can have your preferences saved for future games. If you use the Play Now button or join a table that someone else has set up, you'll have to accept whatever options are set for the table. Each gameplay option is listed, followed by its default.
Card Drawn from Deck [2]:
Normally, 2 cards are drawn from the deck on every turn. If you would like to draw 1 card from the deck each turn, select this option.
Minimum Canastas Required to Meld Out [1]:
Normally, players must have at least one Canasta before they can meld out. If you would like to require 2 Canastas to meld out, select this option.
Wild Cards Allowed in Opening Meld [yes]:
Normally, it is OK to include both "natural" cards and "wild" cards in your opening meld. If you would like to require that players include ONLY natural cards in their opening meld, select this option.
Show Tips During Gameplay [yes]:
Normally, tips that help players learn how to play are shown in the text in the center of the screen. If you would like to make sure that these tips do not appear for any of the players at your table, select "no."
