Wow. And I felt bad the time I shanked a ball through the window of a house too close to the fairway. That was nothing compared to this!
The golfer's name is being withheld, which is probably for the best, and no charges are going to be filed. Fortunately, it all could have been much worse. As it was, the blaze required both helicopters and on-the-ground crews.
The conditions were ripe for a blaze, with dry brush from a recent heat wave just waiting for the right spark. Like, say, one caused by metal on rock.

I bought A HP Mini 110 Laptop in Buenos Aires maybe around 8 months ago.
Anyway, I didn-t register my Microsoft Office Programmes and I have now used my 50 offline Word documents...

My problem is that my laptop wont let me register. When it asks for the key, it says its incorrect. I take it that the registration number is the sticker on the base of the laptop entitled Product Key? ...The laptop is legit by the way. Can you help me out on this and also is there another way that I can try to input it, do you have instructions. Microsoft are looking for 72 euro to email them about it....NO CHANCE!!

I have been a theist, and debated theism with many people over the decades, including some very knowledge and intelligent people.
One issue that is never addressed to my satisfaction is the basic problem of evil.
Simply put - why would any benign God allow bad things to happen to good people?

It is a very straightforward question, yet theologians wrap themselves up in semantic knots trying to answer it - and always either fudge or fail.

A common answer - that humans have free-will and evil goes with the territory - is a fudge. It is perfectly possible for free-will to exist without natural disasters that kill children, infants and other obviously 'innocent' people. Catholics would say that the infant is not innocent because of original sin, but that doesn't explain why they would be killed by God...

Epicurus (philosopher_) summed up the problem nicely:

So..If you had the chance to knew when and how you would die, would you take it or just leave it and find out by yourself.Also, if you found out, you can't change it. For example, if you die by a bullet in a war, you can't stop it by not going at the war..I really would want to know when i would die, young or old. Just to know, so if i die young, i'll do the most against the law things, and if i die old, i would study much, would find a good job, familly etc...So.. Do you want to know when you will die?

So, me, anwiii and Nameless_ had a small discussion the other day. There was a short moment we were discussing about definitions, and defining life and organism came up.

Basically the biological definition for an organism is a living system which means that it responses to stimuli, has self-sustaining biological processes and is capable of reproduction and growth.
What do you think? Is there anything else? If you had a definition of your own, what was it?

First off if you are looking for a way to get rid of a RAT or worm this is not the right place
you need to make a little bit of future preparation for this:
install linux Ubuntu on to your computer via wubi (google )
1. find where the virus is normally it will be hiding in your root director or system folders you can also use task manager to find it by right clicking the process
2. boot in to ubuntu
3. go to the file and sent it the the "trash"
4. empty your trash can
5. boot back into windows
6. use a virus scanner like anti-malwarebytes to search for any left over registry keys or files

i think this is interesting topic to discuss about. i was talking with a friend about that and this make me curious so i google it, and found there are many debates about that. defining the natural resources depending on many issues like languages, religions and what is common in a certain area.

Chaos... Does It Really Exist

Do you believe in the notion that there is a part of the universe that is not controlled, by.... something? Chaos, utter and complete chaos?

I believe Chaos does not exist. I can throw you some examples or why I believe that.

1) If chaos truly existed, would planets have formed into spheres? I mean a sphere has got to be the least favorite shape of chaos, because it is the easiest one to make. It's the path of least resistance.

2) Could chaos also create symmetry? I don't think so. Look at yourself in the mirror. Do you really think chaos made you, by mistake or by accident? Nope.

3) Could chaos have invented math? Probably the most ordered thing in our universe...

4) How about laws of nature that exist just not here but on other planets or in space....

So, I have a STUPID LITTLE BROTHER that likes to watch STUPID CARTOONS on STUPID YOUTUBE.

It's really irritating to browse the net and download stuff while most of your internet speed goes to stupid youtube watcher, especially when I try to download via P2P.

Our internet speed is about 110KB/s, so you can imagine what is happening to me?!
I want a way, to limit the speed of the desktop computer to 50KB/s (NOTE: I'm not talking about bits, but bytes).

Is there any free software out there that will run in the background limiting the speed to 50KB/s? Or can I do it in any other way?

I'm not using a wireless router, it's just lan, a dsl modem wired to two computers.

(I'm not evil, I just want for it to be like half for the desktop and a little more than half for me )

How Do I Edit Startup Programs

Here is one for the puter geeks. I am presently using Windows XP. I have programs that are loading on "startup" that I want not to load on startup. I have found them listed in the System Information, Software Environment under Startup Programs. When I was using Windows 98 I could edit them at this location. Now I am lost as to where I can go to edit these programs. Can somebody tell me where to edit the startup programs? My Start Menu, Startup folder is currently empty. Where are these little devils located then?

Your Cms Of Choice?

So, following the recent PHP vs. ASP topic (where there has also been some talk on Ruby on Rails and Python) I've decided to also make another one, where you declare your favourite Content Management System.

Now, since I've posted a few already in the previously mentioned topic, I'll list them here again as mahesh2k suggested:

1. Wordpress is probably my favourite CMS, easy-to-install, easy-to-use and has a large community behind it. It also has extensive documentation ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page ) which will be of much help when you decide to use it for your CMS of choice (believe me, you will choose it after a while)

2. Site Managr CMS (that's a Web 2.0 name ) - Looks like the old Wordpress, seems to have interesting features (Events, more extensive Analytics), built entirely on CodeIgniter. The Demo page ( http://designelemental.net/test/sitemanagr/index.php/admin ) is not working, unfortunately.

3. MediaCore Video / Podcasting CMS will be interesting to all you podcasters out there, free and "fresh out of the oven." It has features to pull data from { insert_service_name_here } to your blog, and an extensive documentation (reminds of Wordpress a bit).

4. Stacey App File CMS doesn't use databases for pulling content to the user but literal files and, therefore, cannot enable commenting on your blog. It's not a problem, though, because you can easily make the commenting system using a service like Disqus. Built on PHP.

5. I don't know, just seemed right to have five list items. Perhaps Cushy CMS, which doesn't have to be installed on your server but just uses classes to edit particular HTML elements. Not suitable for a blog. Free to use.

So, there you have it - five CMS examples, but I'm sure (or I hope ) you can suggest even more. What's your favourite?

Of course, how did I forget...

6. Joomla, also an Open-source CMS, probably one of the more complicated ones to use (at least in my experience, it is). Their website seems a bit cluttered, but overall it's still an OK product.

7. Drupal, community plumbing. Free, but I have never used it so cannot speak for its quality. Anyone have comments?

8. ExpressionEngine, only its "core" version is free for personal projects (I believe), otherwise offers some cool stuff but in my opinion is not better than Wordpress. Some of the big names in Web/Print/Graphic design use it, though, like Jason Santa Maria and Veerle Piters.

9. Speaking of big-name designers, Elliot Jay Stocks uses a hosted solution for his blog nowadays (it used to be powered by Wordpress), called "Harmony App". He's already said a few words about it on his blog ( http://elliotjaystocks.com/blog/perfect-harmony/ ), but it's important to note how it now seems as if the CMS came out of beta testing. I personally don't see the future in already hosted blog solutions, but would be really happy if Elliot and Harmony App proved me wrong.

10. Magento is cool if you intend to sell stuff on your website (that is, eCommerce). I'm not a big fan of their site (barely found pricing and all the first time there), but I think there's no better way of selling stuff on line than Magento. If you're a "skilled individual" (I think they've put it like that) you can download and manage the free version, but otherwise you're going to have to pay a subscription fee in order to receive all support. If you'd like to learn about programming for Magento, I suggest you check out a tutorial series by NetTuts where they teach you just that ( http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/other/getting-started-with-magento-ecommerce/ ).

11. Refinery CMS is a Ruby on Rails-based CMS and a fairly fresh one for that matter. Seems to be very nice and I intend to further see how it works as I learn more about Ruby.

All My Ideas Get Invented?

Well, this is a really strange thing that has been happening to me ever since I can remember. I usually have these GREAT ideas that just pop into my heads at random times and I tell my family, friends or anyone that is just around in the moment. I'm pretty sure this happens to almost everyone... but what happens next is the weird part.

So, I have these ideas and then a few months.. or even a few years later -- its INVENTED! Some crazy scientists in Geneva or some other place have the same thing that I thought of! It's so crazy! I remember the time that I thought of Wireless energy and I had a WHOLE FREAKING plan about how everything is connected and that there are huge "power" stations that emit energy and suck in energy too. Cars pick up those signals, so no more gas! (I'll explain more about this later in a thread in the Theory section). This was waaaaay back when I was in 2rd or 3rd grade and then sometime in 2009 i learn that its now possible and heck, they have companies based on it now. Gooood Luck Ryan Tseng, because I'm coming after you!

I have a few more ideas like this that have been invented! Did this happen to anybody else? Or do many of 6 billion people have the same ideas? Or are the Russians spying on me?

Glary Utilities Review

All I have to say man I wish I saw this freebie 22 hours ago , because this software is the ultimate in computer optimizations:

It has the Following

:Disk Cleaner
:registry cleaner
:short cut fixer (which finds dead shortcut links and you can delete them, thus freeing up a few kbs of space)
:memory optimizer
:track eraser (which basically clears your cookies, clipboard, browser histories and other neat stuff)

Of course something I really like that I never seen in some optimization software is empty folder finder, which scans your computer and looks for empty folders and gives you the option of deleting those empty folder (deleted 232 empty folders through my first run). I usually recommend people to get advance system optimizer because of all the tools you could use, I even used PC surgeon which was pretty good as well for a freeware software. But when it came to registry cleaning Glary Utilities found over 700 errors within my registry alone, usually I never got that many. Like I said only if I saw this about 22 hours earlier, those who run old PC could use this software and maybe speed it up.

So if you have to buy a PC optimzation software I would say go and purchanse this software and enjoy an a better, faster computer.

How "unforgiving" Should Game Difficulty Be?

Should a game be extremely difficult and unforgiving, or relaxing and not challenging? I imagine this is a much debated subject for gamers and game designers and I'm not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, there is no doubt that an unforgiving game with few save points makes the game more intense and enjoyable. A fun test of intelligence even. In difficult shooters (such as the old Rainbow Six games, SWAT 4, or Full Spectrum Warrior) I take my time and check my corners and treat my character or team like real people, who's lives are fragile. Fun experience. In strategy games, it makes a game much more interesting if there are consequences to actions. I have to contemplate whether to attack or not. Attacking too early could be a fatal mistake that I should consider carefully.

While the lack of saving does make a game more intense and exciting, that is only when things are going well. I don't know about anyone else, but I am not flawless in my gaming skill. Suffering a stupid, meaningless death seconds from a checkpoint or an accidental death to a game bug (ever throw a grenade to have it bounce off your cover and into your face instead of over? What kind of moron would throw a grenade like that?) or a wrong mouse click. and having to redo 15-20 minutes of a level over and over begins to get extremely frustrating and becomes a complete waste of time. I often find myself so angry I could throw my computer / controller out the window and just keep playing it over and over trying to succeed so I won't be ticked off anymore.

When I play strategy games, like Civilization, it is so much more enjoyable to play realistically, accepting the consequences of a not so successful war, or to live with an unexpected enemy attack. However, I find it nearly impossible to live with a set back after an hour or more of planning, my cities being razed or my army being wiped out, when I can just load up a save and change the situation with God-like powers. Thus, I end up playing a completely boring and easy game because the option to "Cheat" is so easy.

So I really can't decide. Is it better to have a game that's very challenging and unforgiving, or a game that is so easy you could play in your sleep? Sure, getting stressed because of a game sucks, but isn't a game that's too easy kind of boring?

I'm kind of pleased at the switching trend from manual/quick saves to checkpoints. They seem to work pretty well in most cases, and it relieves me from the task of obsessive saving around every turn. Sometimes it kind of sucks not being able to manually save before a part you have trouble with, but I guess nothing is perfect...

Nostradamus And World War Iii Predictions

Internet discussion forums seems abuzz with talk that Nostradamus forecast the attack on the World Trade Center in New York. Thousands of people have received e-mails from known/unknown sources containing this prophecy, often with a second part forecasting that the attack on the twin towers will mark the beginning of World War III. Several versions are doing the rounds. This is one of many:

In the city of york there will be a great collapse,
2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos
while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb

The author of the first link came up with the following conclusions :

--2001 is the first year of the new century and this is the 9th month.

--New York is located at the 41st degree Latitude.

--Nostradamus also said that this would be the third World War and it would be bigger than the last two wars.

The author wrapped-up his posting by uttering his anxiety - "I hope he is wrong, but judging from his predictions of Hitler, Napoleon, and Pearl Harbor...."

Plans After High School & More.

I attend an alternative high school. I decided to go to this school because I wanted to graduate a year early. Towards the end of the school year (2010) I slacked off intentionally because I felt I wasn't ready for the "real world."

The only reason I wanted to graduate early was because I lived with my mother and step father. I was taken away from them because my step father was very abusive towards me. My friends mother finally called the police on him and took me in. I feel out of place living with my friends family, but his family is very caring. I just in a way get a bit jealous. Like, why can't I have a family like his? Though I am grateful to feel safe here with them.

This is all probably everywhere, but I hope you understand all this. Well when school let out I only had 20 credits to finish up, which I could have done, but the last 2 months I slacked off because as much as I wanted to get away from my step father I was scared of what was going to happen after I graduated. I didn't know where I was going to go because my step father had already told me that once I graduated I was out of the house.

My plans have always been to join the Air Force, but that changed last year to the Army. I really want to enlist in the Army! I have an uncle who is in the Marine Corp. and I sort of want to follow in his foot steps. Well I'm supposed to graduate this year in October and I am so confused on what I want. I mean like I know what I want, but so many things are going through my mind. I grew up not poor, but less fortunate than others. I know how to appreciate what I have. It's just, I don't know if I have even made sense, but can some one give me advice on how to be able to set my mind straight?

I'm not good at expressing my feelings so well because my parents were old fashioned and I was never taught to communicate with them. So like I said this might not make sense because I wrote about everything all together. Still would like some help!

Dell Inspiron 1501

Hi all. I am hoping someone can help me. I have a Dell inspiron 1501 that is about four yrs old. The screen suddenly started to go black. The only way to fix it was to close the monitor and reopen. It will stay on for a few seconds and then go black again. If you hold a light to it you can see that it is running fine and you can even make out a faint webpage. Long story short after trying everything I turned to brightness down to a very low setting and it will stay on now but is very hard to use because of the dimness. I do not have money to pay for a repair and can do it myself but I need to know if I should get a new monitor or if it may be a wiring problem or something. Thanks for any help.

How To Set Up Xampp

After the download has finished it should automatic come up with its setup if it does not come up with a set up follow these instructions:
Step1: Go to where you Installed the files
Step2:Click Setup_XAMPP
Step3:Follow its steps
Step4 Your back to where you should be!

Now click XAMPP_start and wait for it to load
OR
Click XAMPP_control This also serves the same purpose as XAMPP_start
Once you have opened the control then click start on Apache and Mysql

Once (xampp start) has finished loading and auto close
Once (xampp control) you have started Apache and Mysql
You can now start making PHP files Oh YEY!
once you have made a php file you can test it Put the php file in your XAMPP folder Under HT_Docs
And then type in your browser http://localhost/phpfilename
And your Php file will load !!

You may have seen the other sites I now want to start off a forum again, I used to have a Computer forum however I shut it down due to another project which has been completed.

Now I was wondering if I should do another Computer support forum or I was thinking of a mod wars forum like an army system.
No matter what forum it is on I will be using the forum software IPB 3.0.X

Could you suggest some ideas and how to get them popular?

Hello!

My name is Rick Mitchell and today I'm going to tell you about this theory. This theory is supposed to proof; that human didn't create Egyptian pyramids.

Khufu Pyramid

Made of 2,300,000 building blocks.
On average, each block weights over 3,000 Kilograms(kg).
From what we know, it was built for about 23-26 years.
From writings we know that they used scaffolds made of sand.
The pyramid is geometrically around 96% perfect.
16000-20000 workers working during Nile floods.
Most of building blocks came from as far as 150 kilometres(km).

As seen above, we can find one point of interest on row four and another on row five on the list. If they used tempoarily scaffolds made of sand, the sand would've tightened up so much it would've became as hard as rock because of dragging all that weight over them and nearly impossible to remove. Pyramids are also geometrically 95-97% perfect. That'd be achievement even with modern technology.

What else? Let me teach you some mathematics.

2,300,000[blocks] / (26[Years] * 200[Working days per year]) = 442.307... = 442 [Blocks per day]

As you see above, they would have had to transfer about 442 blocks per day to get it built in 26 years.

442[Blocks per day] * 3,000[Weight in kilograms] = 1,326,000 [Kilograms transferred per day]

Where I live, trucks are limited to 16,000 kilograms weight... Even if their boats could've actually have carried 16,000 kilograms, their speed would've been something between 15 and 30 kilometres per hour. The blocks were brought from 150 kilometres far...

With what I've given you, you should be able to tell that human beings did NOT create pyramids. This is only theory, but theres another billion things that support my findings.

Help With Css Sytelsheet

Just wanted to ask for some help with my site regarding CSS Stylesheet. If you go to my site and see that there is a menu list on the left hand side. I wanted to create another box under that one the same width. The contents of my CSS Stylesheet is below, anyone know how to do this? As I have tried but am unable to do so.

I also previously got help to set up that current menu so it is embedded using a particular code that links to another file so I only have to change that particular file in order to change the menu thus not having to change every page on the site when I want to change the menu. It would be great if I could set this up the same. But for now I just need to know how to do it.

Call Of Duty Black Ops

Hello everyone. I don't know if you've seen any of the gameplay on the newest Call of Duty game coming out November 9th, but its looking to be a pretty nasty game. One thing that's been my favorite out of anything in the CoD Series would have to be Call of Duty WaW's Nazi Zombies. I mean whats more fun then mowing down hordes and hordes of zombies. Upgrading guns and so forth. Well Black Ops is bringing Zombies back up to the plate. I for one can't wait to see what they have new to offer. WaW had huge death lightning wolves. So who knows what going to be happening.
Anyone up for new Kill Streaks? There are some confirmed as of now. RC Car Bomb. Yea RC... You drive the little remote control car around find some people on the ground and blow them up. I think its only 2-3 kills to get this so I hope it doesn't get to spammy. Also there's a kind of Predator Missle type thing it sounds like it will be just like it but named differently.
So yea the new CoD is starting to look like its worth the money. November 9th (Going to the midnight launch ) anyone else getting it? Either way I'd buy this game just for the Zombies!
