just in short:
8bit = 1byte
1024 bytes = 1 Kilobyte
1024 Kilobytes = 1 Megabyte
1024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte
1024 Gigabyte = 1 Terabyte
etc..
etc..
8bit = 1byte
1024 bytes = 1 Kilobyte
1024 Kilobytes = 1 Megabyte
1024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte
1024 Gigabyte = 1 Terabyte
etc..
etc..
Just a note, the 1024 comes from 2^10 (2 to the power of 10), and an important number for computers.

Tape drives are OLD.
The terrabyte concept is still going to be under development for a while now, but I expect it's going to be a while untill anyone actually needs one for casual purposes. I'd like to see a 3cm 400gb harddrive sometime soon however

I've heard of a TB hdd. The only thing is is costs 1000$. wich is relatively cheap, because you pay 1$ per GB

And, what would you use a terabyte hard drive for?
Games, movies, music and all kinds of stuff.
I have a home network so i could keep most of my stuff on 1 computer and use the others to access it.
it would keep my other computers free from crap.
