Why don't you enable html in sigs, like it could be useful for flash animated sigs, and if it gets to be too much you can always disable it or restrict it for certain members. Just a thought.

Enabling HTML will open up the doors for a lot of attacks and other nasty things (I'm sure I've said this here before).

It won't be happening, not while I'm on the staff.

Is'nt there a way to only allow flash and not html?
I know you can with phpBB but I don't know much about IPB.

You could have flash signatures, but that's only if you have a moderator/admin approve it and upload it to a server which you don't have access to.

I think it's just too much of a hassle - go use Image Ready for gifs. :D The only thing you're missing is sound, and who needs that anyway? (And a few other programables.. but yea.)

No, it would be impossible to add a Flash signature without using HTML (you need to embed a Flash animation; the img bbCode tags wouldn't be able to do it).

My only suggestion is exporting your Flash animations as animated GIFs, and using them from there. Just make sure they don't get too big.

I really think that signatures should be in plain text only. It is for me annoying to read post (around 2 lines) with incredible with signatures composed of big big banners. Allowing signatures with Flash would be even worst.
