I want to but a new processor, a Pentium 4, I have a Celeron at the mo.. is it possible to simply change them, swap the?

Or would I need to buy a new mother board?

Thank you,
Cragllo.

It depends on what voltage and socket your motherboard supports, if its an old celeron processor than no.

However a motherboard can be purchased for a cheap price at tigerdirect.com

It all depends on your voltage.. however that just depends on how much compontents you need to have in your computer... but dont worry normal standard ones are alright..

i agree with last 2 posts. If you have Celeron 1.7GHz and over that then you can upgrade your processor, but i recommend you to buy Pentium 4 Nortwood

I heard that the new AMD Athlon is a lot faster than the new Pentium IV, you might want to check it out...
