Right now I'm rocking 1400x1050 on my IBM thinkpad T40. I think its a 15" screen. 16 bit color at 60hz. Theres not really any point in going higher than that on the refresh rate.

I don't use 32bit because i think it will make my computer slow. And my resolution is 1024x768

I'm using a wide-screen DELL notebook...
The resolution is weird and does not follow the 3:4 standard..

Here is it..
1280 x 800
32 bit colors

Anything deeper will make my eyes hurt...

I'm on a 1024 x 768 (16 bit) resolution on my Samsung LCD (SyncMaster 510m).

I guess LCD monitors don't function well on a resolution lower than that, do they?

LG Flatron L1715S (LCD) monitor:

1280*1024 17' @ 24 bit-colour

Card: NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4200 w/ AGP 8X
NVIDIA Driver: 1.0-7174

Yes, 24 bit colour, NVIDIA drivers won't support more than that on Linux.

oh well...

Still get colours like 32-bit.

Well, how can I make 24-bit to appear? I only have 16-bit and 32-bit. I think 32-bit makes my Pentium 3 700 Mhz 320 MB Ram pc, slower. But 16-bit, my computer is fast. My video memory is 64 MB. Is there a tweak for Windows XP to run faster in 32-bit color mode?
