So, you want to develop J2ME Application..Here is what you need to develop the J2ME application.

You need Java IDE, it will make life easier and you will learne new stuff. Back to the point. IDE like free ones - Eclipse with mobile plugin, Netbeans 4.1. Then you also need Mobile tool kit, which is available from Java Sun mobile toolkit, Nokia toolkit etc.

One you have this, you are ready to roll, as there are so many tutorials out there, you just have to goooooogled it.

Hope This is helpfull to you guys..Let me know if you required more info.

Best Luck

:D :( :D :( :(

There are plenty of places online where you can download things for your Mobile Phone. groups.yahoo.com was my first place. I'm sure you can find the app you are looking for at one of the following websites.

aivanet.com
forums.cjb.net/mobilesoftwares.html
iphone-forum.org

There are plenty of organized things, so just find java!

If you ask me, I would say Megapyxel's suggestion would be over the top. Although this is something which would really benefit us programmers on the move, but this is unrealistic IMO. Programming on a mobile phone would be absolutely crazy, creating an 'if loop' would be madness, much less a whole class. I would go crazy just programming with the mobile phone if this was actually created.

However I do have some suggestions for you, I think the most obvious choice would be to do some mobile games because that would be interesting wouldn't it? To be able to play while on the move, kills a lot of time. However if you prefer applications, why not do a currency converter application retrieving the data from a web service or maybe a simple application, a BMI calculator?

Replying to darran
I have to just develop a application for my mobile. The things I have to do is just give a Name it should get me the address, phone no, birth date etc. But all these I will hard coded in the program.

As I am new to this, which programming language you will suggest me to use.

Sync Contacts with Gmail / Hotmail accountsJava Mobile ApplicationsReplying to InspironDear Sir,I am using the Sony Ericsson K660i. As a Mortage Planner, my contacts database is the source of business leads / referrals. I am looking for software that will synchronize the Contacts and Calendar of my mobile with my Gmail and / or Hotmail accounts.A Mortgage Planner is an agent and as such we do not have corporate emails or laptops with MS Outlook. As an entrepreneur, I take the opportunity of the free web based email accounts and wish that I didn't have to "double-entry" or "triple-entry" my Contact and / or Calendar information. Will appreciate if you find this request a challenge worth your expertise.Thanks.-reply by Johann Lukose

Emulators! Emulator for old consoles or portable games.
Or a program that solves math problems and can graph (I think this is more simple).
