Hardest game ever is Lemmings for the PSP, I can only beat all of the first two dificulties, and almost none of the harder two dificulties. They are so confusing, annoying, and why o why do they have to time all of them... Even if they didnt time them i bet there would still be like 10 levels atleast that I wouldnt be able to beat. This game is so hard...

It seems like some of you misinterpreted the words "hardest game of all time" - just because you didnt finish it or were really young doesnt mean it is the hardest game ever. However, although it occurred to me that some more skill (not a bash) in some cases would make it easier, the most blatent one I happened to see was Final Fantasy X. Its really not that hard guys - you dont even ever need to use the sphere grid once. Here is the proof: Final Fantasy X NSG (No Sphere Grid) Final Boss Battle <- didnt see that coming, did you? Overkill on him!

lolololol The Boss was easy, esp on low difficulty levels, where you just equip your life medicine and run right up to her. Let her kick you down, get up and then you have the opportunity (if you are fast enough) to punch/kick her 3 times, knocking her to the ground. Then you get 2 or 3 headshot opportunities before she gets back up again, then repeat. On harder difficulties, pick white camo then as she is running away, run and get into a crawling position, then get out your sniper rifle (Mosin Nagant if you got it) and wait for her to jump out and look for you. She will stand there for a couple of seconds before realizing you are somewhere else (then she takes cover). Just shoot her during that time and you should be good, just keep your distance. Also, if you didnt know already, when she grabs you, if you press the button (pretty sure its X) at the right time, then you block it and turn it around on her. I finished her in like 2 minutes, but if you cant do it as easily, just keep trying. If you want a truly hard game, browse through the really old NES kinds of games. They are everywhere.

Frankly alot of the newer games are easier then hell.
Even now years later , the Megaman series for NES is some of the toughest gameplay i still have.
adventure game based I would have to say Landstalker for Genesis was a real tough challenge.
Hmmm alas I think othe than megaman the Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game was a tough challenge even if they did allow you too have a continue or two

Final Fantasy X was a joke, it look me 25 hours to compelte, I collected all the ultimate weapons and caped the sphere gride, since you cannot actualy level them up. I havnt realy played a game that was too hard for me. Most games are easy as cake.
Heres a list of mine.
1. Zelda: Majoras Mask
2. Sim City
3. Suikoden 3
4. World of Warcraft

Mine would probally be Zelda: Majoras Mask. I hated that you had a time limit to collect all the masks. I could never get anything i really had no idea where everything was. I just eventually stopped playing it. I still havent beaten. I think I might start to try and beat it again.

The hardest game I've played so far, and the only one I've yet to beat is Digimon World 2
It's a game for Playstation that features a really long gameplay and has a lot of replay value from what I've heard. And it takes a long long time to train your Digimon(s) to a good level so it can take on some really hard enemies.
Besides the leveling and battling, the dungeons are also really annoying. Traps, mines, bugs, and other annoying stuff all over the place makes it hard to navigate through the dungeon without making mistakes. Sometimes, you'll land on a bug that'll make you want to start over because of its evilness. Then there's the mines that can kill you. And bugs that steal your money or eat away your energy.
And if you somehow managed to avoid all of those, well good. Because in each dungeon, there's at least 5+ floors of those evilness in the mid stages of the game.

Some of the games you mentioned above weren't that hard at all. FFX was really easy. All you need to do is get to a decent level with characters trained well. Meaning, good spells, techniques. The only hard boss in FFX was Seymour...2 or 3, I forgot which, maybe both.
As for FF9, that game was even easier. It's just generally training.
Grand Theft Auto on the other hand, I consider to be hard. Maybe because I suck at shooting games like those.

I could never beat Mario 64, but that's mainly because I lost interest in it after the 300 Jabillionth star...
Other than that the original super mario bros was a toughie, and maybe like...every megeman game...But they're all listed

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time easily. Got it with Wind waker on GC and found it impossibly hard compared. have had it for ages and am still right near the start
Great game though. The Resident Evil remake was also pretty hard, but I still managed to beat it in like two and a half hours. Yay for me!

Lol i think that is ridiculous saying that it is impossivel not defeat last boss.
Everyone that knows Final Fantasy knows that the strongest bosses are not the last ones but the ones that you have to beat to earn any new magic ou weapon or something, in FFX case the strongest boss is Penance, and for you to fight him you have to defeat all dark aeons, i did that but i can't defeat Penance and all my charaters have 88000hp, and all at 255 i have all, all legendary weapons everything so don't say that FFX is a easy game.
Devil May Cry3 and Resident Evil 4 are very tough games...

Some people might not think so but I think the Grand Theft Auto games are really hard, mostly just really hard not to cheat on! I CANNOT go 10 minutes without entering in a cheat code for that game. It just makes it so much more fun. I honestly think some of the missions are impossible if you didn't cheat. Sometimes I think that game is just meant for people to cheat on. I also think that Grand Theft Auto is one of the very few games that cheating actually makes the game more fun. Other than Grand Theft Auto I can't really think of hard games off the top of my head.
