Give Me Website Ideas..

I'm deciding to take down my site, it's getting kind of old and boring, but I don't want to just stop with having a site.
I need some ideas for something that provides a service of some sort to people. There are millions of blogs, I really don't want to post about my life on a daily basis anyway.
All ideas will be welcomed, I can't seem to think of anything at all, so Im asking you.
What could my new website be about?

And the likelihood is that people won't want to read them. Glad you're not doing that. Each site has it's own theme which fits in with what the user likes doing. Blogs are ideal for this but since they're so boring and half of them send me to sleep in the first half page, do something else. If you want traffic think of something interesting and original.
Base your site on your favourite sport or activity. You could base it on games but you do you need to attract visitors with something because I can think of a million and one games sites. Attract them with...
- No ads
- Great graphics
- A variety of types of games
- A good layout and clear navigation
These are just a few of the many things you can base your site on. When you do decide what you're doing, always ask yourself "If I were someone else, would I go on this site?"

For graphics, you can use softwares such as Caligari Truespace 3.2, or Macromedia Flash. These softwares are downloadable from the net as sharewares or trials. This will give your website nice graphics.
For the content, you can choose to put whatever you want, such as: Religion, Sports, Entertainment, and a Game website. However, I think that game websites take a lot of bandwith, therefore, I wouldn't choose it.
There are a lot of ideas, but it is your choice as to what interests you.
Hope this helps.

I recommend Dreamweaver over Frontpage any day. Frontpage has the tendency to ruin perfectly good sites. But round doesn't need to worry about the method of creation - that part's been intricately established through all the flash work.
I think you guys lost the point of the topic entirely :/ Round needs ideas ABOUT the site, not the technology used to make it.
But seriously, round, go with your own flow. Pick out colors that appeal to you and throw them into the works. It's what you did on your other sites and it definitely worked

Use notepad, that will give you ultimate control over how your website looks. Frontpage will write code for Internet Explorer and I've looked and code created by this program (yes you can tell) with quite a few mistakes.

Register for imageshack.us, they host flash files so it won't cost you a kb in bandwidth to have games.

Anyways, I do a lot of my random coding in Notepad, but it's nice to be able to see what your site is going to look like so you can get rid of immediate errors before you post. It also helps me remove random code pretty easily. For PHP scripts, especially, it's hand to be able to see how many lines there are.

Thats what I am doing, I am working on a new layout for my website before even the last layout was complete but I am going to put up my sketches, my songs, my graphics and everything I do up there so it would be cool.
If you are good at coding in some language or the other, put up small snippets you crated up there, people who need them will flock to your page and then advertise it at others places too.
Tell all your friends about your site, this surely will attract you visitors...

There are so many things you can do. Write reiews about products, put articles about your hometown , offer cool links to your visitors (kinda old idea but very effective...) .. All these stuff are quite easy to implement. Either you use forums to do it or a content management system like mambo ... I suggest a content management system.. I use php nuke for one of my sites, and am pretty happy with the way it works for me !!
If you plan to make it big, then you have to do something big.!!! MAybe you should be somewhat strong in php, mysql, and probably javascript... Once you are alright with these stuff, and manage to design your site with some neat layout, any idea of yours could sell !!!!
Here are some themes i would like
1) Tutorials
2) Resources (For webdesigning, or similar stuff..)
3) Renders
4) Discussion forum with appreciable amount of activity..
Well, whatever you end up doing, my good wishes !!!

Write articles on popular sites, answer in yahoo, participate in relevant forums to drive specific traffic to your site.
Last but not least do not forget to make your site search engine friendly and submit it to all major search engines. And CONFIDENCE and PATIENCE is key to success launching a site(specially if u r not funded by VC).
Good luck

Does anyone script themselves these days with html? I'm 15 and I have created many websites with just html alone. My latest website <a href="http://stufftodo.Tk">"Stuff to do Site" took me about 5 days to do. It is not the best I could do but I just wanted to finish it because halfway into it I decided I did not like the idea.

first u need to know what your interests are...
if you cant seem to come up with one then u need to try out different topics and see which one u most prob. fall interest for.
then just make a rough page with all the info and stuff abt that topic.
once ur done with that u will know what to do from there.. its pretty simple...
u keep adding new things to ur site and give it a gr8 look and design
cheers
