my question is

what electronic device would take to desert island

you are allowed to take only one device, and you have as much battery power you need.

I would choose TV

First of all, this does not belong in Technology section I'm moving to General Talk.

And I didn't know an island can be a desert...surrounded by a body of water and all. Perhaps you meant to say deserted island? In which case, I'd bring a GPS phone to stay in touch, order groceries and order quick midnight snack (I'm sure a pizza place is open somewhere in the world )

I would take a laptop with a wireless internet connection..So that I am always connected with the world. .That is not easy to live alone on a island without some buddy.The first reason why I would take a laptop is to post enough credits for my hosting for my site so it is not going offline.

I'd take a cellular phone so I could order other electronical devices to be delivered to my desert island. That would rock to have a whole island to yourself, complete with stereo, laptop, and television.

I think I'd get lonely though, so having a cell phone still helps.

i think i would also take a laptop, so that i could get on the internet (if we are pretending you could get a connection), and so that i could listen to music and play online games. although i don't know how long i'd be able to use the laptop for, seeing as eventually the battery would die.

i would take a laptop, hands down. hopefully there would be a webcam and microphone so i could talk to people, and then i could order groceries and such as well as entertain myself for hours. how clever.

I'd take a electric powered nuclear bomb. And I'd sit on top of it while it explodes. I swear to God, I would. Nothing's worse than thirsting and hungering in a deserted island. Everything except posting in the AstaHost forums. Honestly, I was so glad that they banned me there.

Another option: You could just take battery operated speargun and go fishing.
and just because it's deserted, doesnt mean it doesn't have water - (although that wasn't originally defined) - it could, like the tv show "Lost".

i would take a laptop with rechargable sun batteries or whatever it's spelled >< so when i get tired of being in the dessert i could manage to have someone get me rescued
