You have two choices when you place digital video clips on your Web site:

Digital video from a Web server. At worst, 100% of a video file on a Web server will have to download before playing can begin.

Pros: video/audio can be higher quality whether you have a fast or slow modem; web congestion will not affect the quality of the playback.

Cons: depends on the file size, but takes a long time to download; viewer has to really want to see the video to have the patience to download the whole file first, casual surfers won't bother.

OR

Digital video from a streaming video server. True streaming is designed to provide real-time delivery of digital video over the Internet.

Pros: Allows for almost instant playback -- video on demand.

Cons: The audio/video quality is not as high for slower modems; the video may sometimes pause or stutter as web traffic congestion can interrupt the download.

in either case, i have yet to find a free hosting site that will let you use the amount of bandwidth necessary to do so = you need to get a paid hosting acount.

It's fairly straightforward to create a streaming mpeg. There are 5 steps in the process.

1. Create or capture and encode your mpeg
2. Create 2 directories
3. Create a playlist
4. Create your Web page, complete with relevant link
5. Upload files to your server

good luck and have fun

ps you should probably start with building a simple site like a "pictures of my favorite _____" or "my favorite band" etc. or an informative "links page" to whatever your intrests or hobbies are with links to all the sites you can find on whatever you want to provide content to. or you could sell something that you make or create or build. or you could start a blog. KISS - keep it simple son. check my post on your how do i learn html thread

Fix the title of this topic. I don't want to delete this thread because It's useful, and I can't modify the title, I can, however, modify posts. Which is pretty pointless if not to censor. Anyways, fix the title. Get rid of the "help". It's annoying.

I hate it when someone posts a topic supposedly requesting help, and then never re-visits it. And don't you think it's just a little bit... suspicious?

Putting a video on the net depends. In most cases the video probably cant be more than 5 MB as most web hosts have a 5MB file size limit and if lots of people download it, its gonna be a serious bandwidth eater dont you think?
