Something weird has been going on with my post count. I've probably done about 25-30 posts, and ever since I did 19 posts or so, my post count hasn't moved. I'm not posting in any of the spam forums, so I don't understand why it hasn't gone up. I really want to sign up for plan 2, but I won't be able to if my post count never moves.

well the thing is...
you can only make 19 posts in a period of time,
(i have to check how long that is)
because else people will do spam.

i had the post count freeze on me after my 3rd post.
then it started moving again after my 6th post. and
it stopped again on my 9th post. this is my 13th post
but it is only showing as 9 in my profile. i hope it
starts moving again. i dont believe any of my posts
have been spam post and almost all of them
exceed 3 or 4 lines.
i agree it is a good idea to limit the post to some
reasonable number to prevent spamming.
but still, as the starter of this topic stated, i really
think there is something wrong with the incrementing.
perhaps, some forums were not included in the
post count increment.

posts in *some* sections actually are not counted. these sections (i don't know
which ones for sure) are areas where some friendly banter between members
go on, and does not really contribute much to qualify as a "good" post. the admins/
mods made it that way so members can contribute good posts in other sections
which really need attention.
but hey, don't worry too much about this post count increment since it's really
easy to acquire hosting here at trap17. most other forums-for-hosting require
much higher numbers of posts... some with 50 minimum even.
a little history:
in the beginning, our minimum posts must be 38.
but we still made good posts
then, and got our hosting.
sooner or later, you will forget monitoring those post counts any longer, as you're
enjoying yourself with topics discussed here at trap17 forums

it that way. i was only afraid it would get stuck and not
increment at all, in which case i will never reach the
required count for hosting. but as it turns out this is
not the case and what you said about quality posts
in the appropriate sections is very true. however, this
present section does not qualify for such so called
quality posts. LOL. its all good.

Your post count may have been affected for the following reasons:
*A pruning of post has occured, thus possibly deleting some of your posts.
*You posts have been deleted because you have spammed
*A pruning of topics has occured, thus possibly deleting topics you may have posted in.
--------------------------------------------------
The above pruning rarely occurs but could of happened, you spamming could of been a likely cause of you post count decreasing.
If one of the above has occured then a recount of the databases psots has occured, your cumulative count would have decreased.

I'm having this problem too. I'm at 8 posts, which is the same as yesterday. It apparently hasn't counted the five i've just done. None of them were spam. None of them were new threads. hmm.
Well.. its going back up now.. but several of my posts from yesterday are missing, though they went through when i made them. is there any reason they would have been 'pruned' **thinks** maybe they were too long.

Alright I have installed a mod which recounts all users post count more effictively, some may find that their psot counts have decreased but this only due to the first running of this tool, which means all posts and topics deleted which users have posted lower your count, as they should.
But from now i believe the post count base will be more effective in counting psots, and anyway I will be upgrading the forums soon (sneak reveal) to ipb2. So please be patient, ipb2 is far more reliable then the current version we are currently running.
I am just looking over all the mods installed, because it will be a bit of work upgrading to make compatible with these mods.
Please be patient

I hope that the mod you created will work. Actually, let's say I posted this message, the post count does not change. Why is that?
I do recommend the following to use in this open forum community. All of the following has a coverter. IPB to phpBB.
IntegraMOD is a pre-modded version of phpBB with great modifications that are made compatible with each other. This is the package where the Best becomes Better.
http://integramod.com
This modification is based on phpBB 2.0.X script, it contains about 200 add-ons, with ability to switch off any of them in admin's panel.
phpBB by Przemo http://przemo.take.pl
Or download the latest version of phpBB at http://area51.phpbb.com
or XMB forum http://www.xmbforum.com (demo http://forums.karlo.trap17.com)
