Joomla asks on step 3 to enter a URL and path for the site.

For the local site, not for the install directory, as aguy on Joomla Forums said to me.

But im not sure what the root folder is in the path directory, couse Joomla creates a custom path for what it thinks it should be, and it says this:

/home/username/public_html/
this is what joomla says, and theres also a message that states that this might be correct couse Joomla detects automatically the right folder...

But in an ftp client it shows the root directory of my account as follows:

/public_html/

This directory and others... which is the correct one?

Thanks in advance!

Coincidence is non-sequitur, therefore everything has a reason for its existence (except if they are eternal).

You can find out what your root directory is in your cpanel under general server information.

/home/lozbo/public_html is the correct one. But check whether you should put 'back slash' i.e. / after /home/lozbo/public_html the joomla installer might have already mentioned to put end slash or not.

What you see in your FTP directory is starting from /home/lozbo/ so you start seeing public_html and other files there. The root path therefore is /home/lozbo/public_html

case 2: But if you install your joomla in another folder within public_html you must put the rooth path as /home/lozbo/public_html/folder

I hope this helps. If you have more problems let us know.

I'm a bit confused here.

Normally you just add /administrator to the end of the address.

It should look like this: http://www.yoursite.com/administrator

here you will be prompted to enter your username (in most cases: admin) and your password.

If all the information is correct you should be able to access the backend of your site.
