It's definately safe eating chickens.. until when you see KFC fast food restaurant starts closing down. 
But I'm afraid that the population of chickens would decrease at a very fast rate since the governments of many countries started killing chickens, both sick and innocent. Not surprising that one day, the prices for a chicken will rise due to its shortage.

According to the UN, H5N1, Avian Bird Flu, is spreading rampantly across Africa and Europe. It's onlt a matter of time before it hits the Americas and Australia (the only continents not affected as of yet). You can find out a lot about it from the Associated Press website. From the way it's looking to me, there is no stopping it. It reminds me of many years ago when the first case of HIV was discovered. Like that virus, H5N1 suddenly spung up out of nowhere and is now running rampant. Maybe the UN program for world population reduction is finally being applied in full force.
