One day I was bored so I set a password for our Web security software, Trend Micro Internet Security. I turned on the URL filter, and now, whenever my friends send me something funny that has no porn or anything in it, I get the Blocked error. I am really annoyed by this; I can't change other setting in the software too. Is there any way to either reset the password or remove it, without uninstalling Trend Micro?

Try contacting the manufacture of the software. How about their website regards to resetting the password?

I looked on the Trend Micro knowledgebase, and the only solution seems to be uninstalling it which is not very convenient - we have three computers on out network using the software. My dad is gonna kill me if he sees that the password is not something he set.

So you want 2 uninstall Trend Macro and you have forgotten your trend macro password...

Don't worry...

Use uninstaller like "Your Uninstaller! 2008"...

1st -> try this software to uninstall Trend Macro..it will ask for password but ignore it and continue..

2nd -> Go to Start -> Run -> type "msconfig" & then press enter

3rd -> go to "Startup" tab (extreme right)and uncheck all programms that has a path associated to Trend Macro

4th -> go to "Services" tab (2nd to extreme right) and uncheck all services that are linked to Trendmacro (like Office Scan..a part of Trend Macro)

5th -> press apply and then OK...restart your computer

6th -> Go to "see:Program Files" and delete the complete folder of Trend Macro

7th -> Go to Start -> Run -> type "regedit" & then press enter

8th -> select "My Computer" from the left content index and then go to Edit->Find...type trend and search...delete all the entry..which ever is possible..do the search 2-3 times and repeat the delete process...if you are unable to delete an entry after 2-3 times ...leave it..

9th -> Restart and do install a new Anti Virus software

Sure shot solution
Forgot Password To Trend Micro Internet Security

Edit Ofcscan.Ini file.

On Windows.95/98 machines it is usually in C:WindowsOfcscan.Ini

On Windows.NT/2K machines it is usually in C:WINNTOfcscan.Ini

May also be in C:Program Files...

Open the Ofcscan.Ini file using notepad search for the [INI_CLIENT_SECTION]

Find the line reading Uninstall_Pwd= and type a # at the beginning of the line to comment it out.

Insert a new line saying Uninstall_Pwd=70

Save the Ofcscan.Ini file and retry the uninstall. When it prompts you for a password, enter a '1'.

Ok I have done this several times and after searching through 4 or 5 different sites for answers I have written up a step by step process. Hope you guys like it!!!!

Removing/Uninstalling Trend Micro Client

1) Go to start
2) Open my computer
3) Open up the c: drive
4) Open up program files folder
5) Open up trend micro client folder
6) Look for ofcscan.ini file and open it in notepad
7) In the file scroll to the following area (INI_CLIENT_SECTION)
8) Find Uninstall_Pwd= line and enter # at the front of that line
9) Go to the end of the Uninstall_Pwd= line and hit enter to add a new line under that line
10) Type Unistall_Pwd=70
11) Save the file
12) Go to start
13) Click on run
14) Type regedit
15) In registry go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
16) Go to software section under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
17) The look for trend micro and open it
18) Under trend micro look for pc-cillinNTCorp and open it
19) Under pc-cillinNTCorp click on current version
20) Select MISC. under current version
21) On the right pane look for Allow Uninstall (should be 5th from the top)
22) Right click on allow uninstall
23) Select modify in popup box
24) Change the base from hexadecimal to binary
25) In the value change the 0 to 1
26) Click ok and close the registry
27) Now you are able to uninstall trend micro office scan client

This fix continues to work! Years ago, another network administrator installed this software on some of our computers. No one remembered the password. I was able to change the registry as explained and this allowed me to uninstall Micro Trend. Thanks!
