Download from their site:
Speakonia Download page

The Download page also has links for downloadable language packages for a couple of languages other than English and a pack for 'British" English (for those of us using the Queen's English / different spellings than American English) and a link to download the Microsoft voices which I find to be better than the default voices supplied with the basic software, but you decide.

Cut and paste your emails or any other text into the software and it will use the speakers on your computer to read it back to you. Way cool. A great feature for those who need it or just want to play with it. It can create .wav files for you to send speaking notes to others who are capable of running .wav files. Lots of fun. But be warned that .wav files can get pretty big, pretty fast, so if you plan to send them to users on dial-up, they aren't going to like it. Other than that, have fun.

yup! he PM'd this to me and i used it and it is awsome! im going to keep it, but the default voices are really computermated..*sounds like not a real human* but the extra ones you can download sound like real humans and pronounce words allot better than the Default voices! and best of all it is fun!! also a tip, when the program is up and if you copy anything, without pasting it into the programs box it will automaticly start to read it off..so dont be scared..lol ive allready sent a few to my friends!

Quite unique. At first, I thought it was just another text-to-speech program. But when I read you can save it as a .wav file, I had to download it. Neat little program--I may or may not use it for the game I'm currently making.

Side Note: Most of the text-to-speech programs I've downloaded in the past were viruses. No need to worry about that here, though.

Yeh this piece of software is pretty neat. I've used it a few years ago. Back in the days when I thought it would be cool if something read stuff to me so i wouldn't have to read it. lol. Such lazy days. It didn't really work out because the voices were weird and sometimes they would say something I wouldn't understand.

Anyways there are a variety of voices you can download I think and there are some already on the program itself.

One fun thing you can do with this is type words in it and make prank phone calls to people. Its just really funny. Like write ghetto words and it sounds ghetto coming from the voice.

Is there a way to download voice packs to add on to the different voices for the program?
I want to make a voice which is purely computer generated, the sounds like those in Star-Trek or Star Wars.. That certainly be cool!

Really Cool!, its nice to know that finally Microsoft is doing something good. I had already heard about this technology they are developing with midi in which you can have a syntheziser that will be able to sing just as good as any singer can. I bet that will be a major breakthrough in a couple of years, I wonder how its going to affect singers, electronic music is going to favor a lot from this technology.

Lol, this reminded me of the frog that said zzzzzzzzzz in the simpsons, really funny.

About what inspiron said, you can use a sound editing program. Just open or record the voice, and use the plugins and effects that the program has, or you can download millions of vst plugins.
