yeah...Xbox 360 Live - does it only work with wireless router?

Ok, so you have an xbox live account right? Have you used a computer on this same network (modem or router regardless)? I always use a standard PC to check a connection before I use a device such as XBOX, PS3 or Iphone.

If you modem isn't working call tech support in India and let them run you through the 5 hour manual they have sitting on their desk. If you can't configure your router. Look up the model number on google and add the text before it "how to configure router". If you are still having problems set everything to Automatic (on the router) make sure your modem if it uses pppoe ("a login") is correct. If everything I just said is correct check your DNS as you will not be able to get out to the internet if your DNS is wrong.

If you have a wireless router make sure you secure it... There is are lot of Hackers out there that would love use your network and personal information to do things like Buy a car in your name, get you fired from your job (porn), go to jail (child porn or illegal software), Or just host a spam or torrent server from your house slowing your computer and bandwidth to a halt and making you pay the Geeksquad $500 to fix it.

I've got an Xbox 360 elite and I use CLEAR internect service for my online gaming experience. My NAT (network address translation) is moderate and when its moderate I am not as compatible with other online gamers who have Open (the best), or Strict (the worst) and moderate is in the middle of those two. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why my NAT is moderate when according to Micrsoft (because I have called their TECH support that I should not have any NAT problems when connecting directly to a modem period. I have also called CLEAR tech support and told me the same thing which I  basically know I'm asking around because no one has the answer to  my question. My frustration is growing and if anyone knows or knows someone who might know the answer please let me know.

THANKS

It can connect through your laptop and/or desktop!!Xbox 360 Live - does it only work with wireless router?

I connect my xbox 360 to both my laptop and my desktop.

First I open my local area connection propeties (it doesn't matter which just the one you are not currently using.)

2. Configure the internet protocol. Click "use the following IP address" type in "192.168.0.1" as the IP. Clickthe box below (subnet mask) to make sure "255.255.255.0" pops up automatically.

3.Configure your  Xbox with "192.168.0.2"as the IP address, and "192.168.0.1"as gateway. Subnet mask is the same as on the computer.

test connection!

if it doesn't work  email me at Fathmox@gmail.Comwith details.
