Is kinda sneeky, but it's a free top level register, and free hoster.
http://free-domaine.net/en/
Gets you a free domain name in exchange for popups on a site with 100 views per day.
All the other one's I know are subdomains (co.nr), and domains for posts or forum credits. These are the only one's that are completely free that registers top level domains (.com/.net/.info/.org/.ws/.us)

Free .co.sr domain name, without any ads. Works 100% for me : www.dot.co.sr
www.cjb.net - Free .cjb.net domain name, but it had very aggressive popup ads the last time I checked...
www.v3.com - Don't know how it works, but they offer a great deal of free subdomains:
More information about v3: http://www.v3.com/fr...b-domains.shtml
freedomains.freebiebombard.com - Web page looks awful and suspicious, yet they claim to offer free .com, .net, .org and .info domains for "free domain points", without any ads, popups or banners.

Ya those are subdomains. He wanted real domains, like .com/.net/.org/.info/.ws/.us/.tk etc. Thanks for the info about the subdomains by the way. And yes, freedomains.freebiebombard.com is not worth it. You have to pay more to their sponsors more than a domain is worth before they actually give one to you.
