Although the tutorial was designed for AdobeTM PhotoshopTM, you could create a similar tutorial using The GIMP. It has most of the same features, although some of them are in different locations or under slightly different names. The GIMP is completely free, and there are also loads of tutorials written specifically for it if you want to get to grips with it.
