Did they ever make a jetpack that worked good and didn't have any problems? Because if they did how much would they sell for? That would be cool everyone riding to school on a jetpack :P Send me one.
Also who came up with the idea to make that. I wonder :)

yes they have made one, it would sell for around 3 million...., its a big square thing with 4 jets, you have to wear a cooling suit, and you can only ride on it for 20 mins at a time, auto detecting winds etc

I've seen that lemonwonder... I think that's as close as they've gotten...
I once say another thing, but you were more "inside" it, probably so you don't get fried by the jets...

the reason you don't see this kind of thing on the market is because it just isn't practical... there are better things to spend your millions on... :)

Ya I have heard of the jet pack you guys are talking about. I saw it once while watching Myth Busters because they were trying to make one. I think it would be crazy to spend that much money on a jet pack but you know if I won the lottery I would buy it. Even if you can only use 20 minutes you can get rather far in that time but you can't really park it anywhere you sort of have to carry it around with you so no one will steal it.

I dont think a jetpack will ever work, it just isnt practical to have something like that in your back. It probably would be hard to maneuver and dangerous. I bet that we will se some sort of anti gravity pack or board way before or if even a good jetpack is ever made.

We wouldn't see anything anti-grav before we saw a jet pack unless they decided it was dumb. But anti-grav boards and packs would be A LOT heavier than a jet pack. It would take a lot of equipment. And anti-grav isn't something were going to be using in the near future. In a few hundred years we might. But not any sooner. Jet packs would be a lot easier and CHEAPER to make. They would also sell for a lot less. The only negative to it would be the exhaust. But there are suits that can take really hot temperatures. Like the ones they use around Volcanoes. Jet packs will be out way before anything anti-grav.

Well if you read the topic there are jetpacks have already been made and flown. It won't be that hard just take practice like flying a plane or learning to ride a bike. It just takes time to learn the controls and get used to it. They probably will be come less expensive in time like computers they will get smaller and easier to make.

Yes I agree with Plenoptic(I hope I got your name right) They will become something common in the near future. Computers were something not a lot of people had back then. Well not a lot (Almost nobody) Owns a jetpack but in the future I bet lots of people will.

Thats interesting that you say that because on engadget this morning they wrote an article about the new sky walker jet pack (www.skywalkerjets.com) the only problem i see is the cost ($200,000). You can find the aricle here http://www.engadget.com/2006/07/31/skywalk...in-development/
