I love Flight Simulator X! Even though I'm horrible at it. It's the best flight simulator I've ever played. And it's the most realistic. Even though the controls are a bit complicated it's still very fun to play. As long as you know the basics you should be okay. Plus theirs tutorials there to help you learn how to fly. I like how they have a bunch of challenging mission to play. (I normally fail at those :D ) I usually just like to fly around, mess around, crash... etc.

Some bad things are I thought the game didn't come with alot of planes to fly, I think you can download new ones on the internet somewhere. (Not sure where) That's just a minor downside. Another thing is you need a fast computer. The game itself is around 13GB I think.

Gameplay is very smooth and realistic, the graphics are very life like, you really get the feeling of flying. Overall Flight Simulator X is an excellent game. I hope their are more to follow in the future that are even better than the previous.

I have got Flight Simulator X and it is absolutely brilliant. The good thing about it is that you can download and install additional aircraft for the game, and when you use a Joystick/Yoke system it really increases the realitly of the game.

The game is fun but Microsoft should create a gaming device like similar to airplane controls so it would be awesome~!! Plus if you have surround sound system speakers, it would be realistic......

flight simulator X has great potential. you can learn alot of it. as mentioned by the topic starter the great thing about this game is the fact that it entertains and it teaches. isn't that what schools and educational organisations are trying (in most cases failing) to achieve. if your having fun you don't really notice that your learning. flight simulator X is the best flying game out there.

I love FSX too. I've had it for a year now, and can finely do ILS landings, understand vectors, etc. I have the time on my life. There is even a whole forum over Flight Simulator: Flight Simulator X Forums

fs2004 with lots of addon's is still better than fsx I'm waiting to get a new computer before trying out fsx. As for fsx being a teaching tool for wannabe pilots I doubt the default one would because default planes I believe have no fmc which is basically a necessity in most ifr flying aircraft these days. Secondly no matter if you 'flew' on FSX you would still need to do the whole pilot training course from the start regardless.
