Well that is pretty cool, but to be honest, I am not that bothered about downloading some videos. Nevertheless, thank you for the link, I am sure it will help somebody.

I have heard of this website a long time ago. You can download flash videos embedded in a page and then you encode it using Riva FLV encoder, but I have gone against all that after I found a major glitch at least in Windows. After encoding it from a .flv format to a .mpg, when I try opening it, I always get a Windows explorer error, I am not sure what is the problem but my guess would have to be either the i) flash video ii) encoding. I couldn't be bothered to find out which was causing the problem, so I have distanced myself from this downloading of flash embedded videos in html.

Yea, that link is a page to install a plugin for Firefox. Thats what i tried to use before for get Youtube videos in my Hard disk, but its real hard to convert them from .flv to .mpg or .avi with a satisfying result. My videos ended up without sound, or sometimes in a black screen.
That flv format is too buggy for windows i think.

o this thing gave me a really good help, not becuse i wanted to download from you tube or any other video site, but because i am making a site that will have videos, which could be uploaded but not downloaded, now i will keep thwm in flv formatt , so atleast it would make diffcult to use those videos ,easily,it might be possible for complete geeks ,but atleast not possible for common people , should audios be kept in the same formatt ,so they cannot be downloaded easily

I am very familiar with the process of downloading flash embedded videos in html. So maybe you could tell us what problem are you encountering even after reading the guide? Is it got to do with the downloading part from youtube onto your computer or has it got to do with the encoding part into a supported media format like mpg, wmv or avi.
