Well If I see a song or playlist I like on Youtube.com and I don't have a converter I use www.fetchmp3.com its so easy to use, Simply paste the link in and then make sure its the right video it will then convert it for you on the site then you simply click download .

you should try youtube downlaoder software and it contains inbulit function to change the codec of the video or to cahnge in other formats
or try skyvid something like this only i hope so its also cool and one more thing youtube provides very bad quality video

I tried DLing some utube vids and they seemed effective. After the time when youtube changed the paths and all that stuff I can't DL them anymore and quit eversince.

Does it work now? Are the downloaders updated?

There alot of GreaseMonkey scripts that allow you to download Youtube Videos.

GreaseFire shows any type of script that is valid or related to the webpage that you are view.

Also if you don't use Firefox, you can try Orbit Downloader's Grab Tool. Which allows you to download online videos.

I always download clips from youtube with Flash player 11 gold. In EVERY clip (from metacafe, vimeo, youtube) you get a small, pop-up button that says download, you click it and the downloading of the video starts. It's pretty cool, easy and best of all, FREE!
From youtube to mp3, i use www.vid2mp3.com but it sux becouse the quallity sux

I totally agree 100%.

While Youtube may be the most popular video uploading site, it is not the best. The videos on there has crappy resolution, and they take some time to buffer. Stage 6 is a good choice because the quality and everything else is much more better than Youtube.

Sometimes you know, the most popular sites might not be the best sites.
