I'm just curious. I started with Proboards, used Invisionfree (but stuck with proboards), used a source code called Radiance 0.1.1, but it got hacked, so I went back to Proboards, used a source code called WhiteFyre, abandoned it, went back to proboards, and now, I'm fixing up radiance 0.1.4, and it seems permanent.

You?

I run my own, http://forums.karlo.trap17.com

It's good to run your own so that you will have a complete control over it! :(

I also run my own message board at www.odowebdesigns.uni.cc/forums. You are all welcome to visit my forum and tell me what you think about it.

I have had my own forums for quite a long time. I have used proboards & myfreebb. But now I have my own message board. And I like to havemy own message board because then i have complete control over it. And your own forum doesn't have forced adds :(

I concur. My old site I ran myself, and the forum also. I don't imagine how it would be like to technically "own" your board, but only be like the moderator of it (even though you have webmaster capabilities) It's not the same feel as logging in to your forum and thinking "Heh, I could just delete this whole thing right... NOW!" lol. If you're the sinister minded type.

IPB is not free and difficult to install. I recommend przemo http://www.przemo.com :D
