Dear Members,

Our Server GAMMA is undergoing a Hard drive change. Some sectors of the Hard disk were found to be inaccessible. We have identified this as an early sign of Disk failure and hence decided to replace the Hard drive.

The entire process involves :-

• Purchasing a New drive.
  
• Installing OS and CPanel on this new drive.
  
• Switching it to server.
  
• Copying accounts on this drive.
  
• Mounting this drive as primary.

The entire process can take anywhere from 5-8 hours.

We will try our level best to restore things as fast as possible. Thank you for your support and assistance.

This is a great news, that the HDD is being replaced, now we can make sure that the our site is accessible at all time .

I can see the cpanel but my account is still empty! Can anyone tell me if the account files are still being copied???

i think everything will be okay soon just be patient Edit: Seems as if all my files are gone, will they be restored

By the looks of it everythign is fixed because I was able to access my cpanel and log in to my ftp. and it's now 6 pm my time.

Thank you for the maintenance warning . Pardon my ignorance, but is the hard drive change responsible for the new look of the CPanel? Just curious .......

I can access the cpanel X and it seems as if everything is fine, but when i try accessing my homepage it says there are no files and the same thing occurs when i tried to access my file manager as well

Well from what Watermonkey and I thought about earlier when a couple of people were having same problems others are having is that their could be a possibility that accounts could have been corrupted from the HDD exchange because 1 person had problems accessing their public_html folder and getting an error saying the folder is not there. From other accounts people are having problems accessing phpmyadmin, 404 errors and what not. Because of the mention of Disk failure from OpaQue's post this could be a possibility.

Now assuming that is the case their could be a slight chance that websites could be deleted. But most likely everything has been save and not lost because of this HDD exchange.

Hopefully they can be restored, because I have worked too hard on my site to see it be erased....

Thank god I am not one of those people whose data could have been erased. I only have the occasional SQL problem where it does not manage to make a connection. That is slowly fixing by itself, and I don't know whether it is just me, but the site seems to be loading much quicker now.

There seems to be a couple of problems with my hosting account.

The webpages all seem to work without a problem, but I seem to be having a problem with mysql. I keep getting the mysql connection errors (like darran) and when I try to open phpmyadmin, I get the error message "No input file specified".

I can access ftp and cpanel without a problem.

I seem to be getting less of the mysql connection error messages though. Keep up the good work Opaque, I'm sure we'll get there soon. I'm sure we'd all rather lose our data for a day of two than lose it for good, finding out the hard drive had failed.

More or less the same, ocassionally sql errors and the "No Input File specified" when I try to login to phpmyadmin. And I have some issues with the dates, it seems that all the dates before the fix have gone one day backwards...

CPanel X is showing the correct amount of databases, however when I go to PHPMyAdmin it says 'No input file specified'. However the databases are there, and my webpage is showing all the data correctly, so it shouldn't be too hard of a problem to fix.
