Well I thought I kick off weekend with a Party and what party you may ask? What thats just silly to ask , on Monday Trap17 turns 3 years old!!! Like OMG and stuff, who would think trap17 would be turning 3 already and be just as popular back in hte early days of this fine forum. Every class, which includes 2004, 2005, 2006 is represented here in the forums and through the hosting as well.

I am from the class of 2004 in which while fighting a war I stumbled upon this little site only to check it out and post a couple of things and then come back almost 6 months later to become a full active member. I been here since the posting requirement to get free hosting and then when the credit system kicked off to a great and awesome start, to this day which is hte best programming idea any free hosting company could think of.


So as we celebrate this awesome party, bring back your fond memories of being a trap noob like all of where that one day to what are doing now on trap.

Trap17 is the best web host I have ever had. I've been able to learn so much, host my website, and really improve upon my PHP. I hope to keep this as my webhost, until my site is big enough to move up to ComputingHost . Happy Birthday Trap17!

FYI the original post came from me, so as not to get in trouble for making a claim that everyone would be getting credits OpaQue reposted it under his name . As you can tell his story is off just by 3 months and conflicts with the trap17 story. Its not surprising to me that this place has been around for three years, since it is a pretty awesome place and like the greatest idea for people who are cheap/don't have a lot of money for hosting. But what is kind of surprising, is that even though there is a lot of members, you guys don't have all the problems, or rarely have them, like other free hosting sites. You guys are hardly down, and when you are you are quickly on top of things. So i think that is why this site does so great. But yeah, that is cool it's been open for three years, sometimes in the board world that is a long time!

Oh and happy birthday! Your a toddler now right?

three years FOR trap17, and a month after, three years for me ON trap17 as well. can you believe it! i just reviewed my OLD posts, and my first post which appears here is a notice that i got my hosting. the forum crashed as i remember, and old posts were gone in a poof, but we restarted everything, so here we are on our third year!

oh, the good old days, when credits were not yet in play, and we were required 38 posts to get hosted. not that it's bad these times, but i'm going to miss the extra credits by joining the party (a belated note from opaque disqualifies staffers, which means more credits for regular members then ).

Happy Birthday to Trap17

I have been here for almost a year now. I was searching the web for a free host but every site where showing there ads and then suddenly I discover Trap17 in google and become member on 22nd Aug 2006.

In the beginning I was spamming the forum by cutting and pasting the tutorials as I haven't read the rules because of eagerness to collect the hosting credits. But due to the alert moderators of this forum I was warned three times but after that I have improved tremendously. But as I have been warned therefore I was unable to host even though I have required hosting credits. Then BufffalloHelp had suggest me to either wait by posting quality posts or start a new account, but I had decided to continue with my account and to win hearts my quality posts and at last was able to do so.

This was the most memorable moments of my journey with Trap17 so far. Here you will be punished for breaking rules and at the same time will be rewarded for good work.

So long live Trap17 and thanks to Opaque for making such a wonderful site and offering free services, Hats off for you.

As 11:42 PM is the current time in IST, it's still some time for the Birthday!

But yeah, congratulations Trap17 and Xisto on your anniversary!

Man I am in love with Trap17, not only hosting, it has given me various other things too! Like motivation to get into web-designing and graphic-designing, I was nowhere near those things before coming here. And then those healthy discussions. Just the right kind of environment for any kind of discussion.

But it's not the same anymore, the forums used to be greater back then, the service is getting better, but for some weird reason it's tougher to post here now. Maybe this will get solved somehow or the other.

And while I was with Trap17, the time in my personal life has been pretty adventurous, so no matter what Trap17 comes somewhere or the other in my mind anyways, and I am not joking.

And yes, S_M, I saw your "first" post but the topic was closed back then, right?

I joined on october 2006 when i needed to find a good free host. Trap helped me learn html/css/php and stuffz like that. Also i learned quite a bunch here on forum culture on the internet. It's now about 8 months since i joined, and i canceled hosting few weeks ago. Not beacouse of quality of hosting but beacouse life obligations and stuffz like that...
Also i met few great people in trap shoutbox (respect to borda_forx, master_bacara, saint_michael, watermonkey, jlhaslip, serverph and all other people who like to shout at each other)

Wow three years, thats a really, really long time. Lol ive been here for probably 2 weeks tops? Doesn't seem that long, this is definatly the best and most active community ive seen in forever. Most communities are filled with inactive members, and administrators are always on. Its a lot more fun to see moderators and administrators that are so friendly, but you barely see them. Unlike some forums though. This is definatly a great community! HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY!

Some people are having problems loading the site opaque provided and so this is another one with the exact GMT so if you want to use this link to watch the clock go right a head. Also I am keeping regular time updates in the shoutbox as well so those who have figured out what time they need to be on the shoutbox will let you know.

Hmm i guess the staff member posts will not be counted and therefore the next first person gets the 100 Credits? WOW OPAQUE is so generous.

Can someone answer this if i post again after 2 more people do i again get the amount of credits deserved.
