Oh this is kool men. I know that Media player is not able to play DVDs unless supported by a third party DVD plugin. Will this hack actually make MEdia player play DVDs without a third party DVD plugin?

Thats my major concern.

thanksRegistry Tweaks For Windows Media Player

liked the one for removing the radio and tools options from media player>

I have a constraint to use only Microsoft products and working at an educational facility the little ones love the music and choking up the training network listening to radio... Amongst other things.  Eventually got to try this worked a treat.

Thanks very much for the info and time to post this, saved me a few grey hairs - cheers.

Just another place to disable Auto Update

Copy/Paste this lines in your NotePad and save it under [.reg] file (not under .txt)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsMediaPlayer]
"DisableAutoUpdate"=dword:00000001

-> Double-Clic on your saved [.reg] file
