Registry Tweaks for Windows XP - part 2

How to change Drive's icon
1- Click Start Menu > Select Run > Type regedit and then press OK to run Windows Registry Editor.
2- Go to following address: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DriveIcons
3- Create a New STRING and name it "DriveIcons".
4- Create a new STRING inside DriveIcons and name it as your Drive, for example D. (HKEY_...\DriveIcons\D)
5- Create a new STRING inside"D" and name it as DefaultIcon, for example ( HKEY_...\DriveIcons\D\DefaultIcon ). And finally change Default to your desire Icon address, for example : c:\Icons\MyIcon.Ico

To change Registered Organization and Owner of Windows
1- Run Windows Registry Editor.
2- Go to following address: HKEY-LOCAL-MACHIN\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
3- To change Registered Organization, in the right side, double click on the RegisteredOrganization key and change Value data to your Organization name.
4- To change Registered Owner, in the right side, double click on the RegisteredOwner key and change Value data to your name.

To change Windows default directories (My Documents , Desktop , Favorites , Start Menu)
1- Run Windows Registry Editor
2- Go to following address: Shell Folders HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explore\User
3- Select directories (for example My Documents) and change My Documents address to new address.

To remove Username field in Dial-up Networking dialog box
1- Run Windows Registry Editor
2- Go to following address: HKEY_Local_Machine\System\Currentcontealset\Services\Rasman\Parameters
3- Create a new String Value and name it as DisableSavePassword and give it value of 1.

To remove shot down button from Start Menu
1- Run Windows Registry Editor
2- Go to following address: HKEY-CURRENT-USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorr
3- Find a DWORD named NoClose, if there isn't create one) and give it value of 1.

NOTE: incorrectly editing Windows Registry may damages your system registry entries, before editing create a restore point.
