My friend had one. I used to play 2 years a god CS 1.6 but now I got bored of it. Thank you for the tutorial, I've always asked myself how you do one.

Hey.. thx for the tutorial! I did all corectly but when im trying to join to my server I just cant find it and my friends too. I think its something with ports.... I searched for it in google and found some topics but it didnt resolve the problem.. so if any1 knows how to fix it please reply here .

First you say we create a new folder in C:/ that is called HLDS , then you say D:/HLDS I don't get it!/txtmngr/images/smileys/smiley5.Gif And where did the cstrike folder came from!?/txtmngr/images/smileys/smiley13.Gif Please reply I need this preety bad

To host a cs server with steam is easy....
Install the game and run hlds.exe..... Easy settings in them....
after you click start.... It might show you a ip like 192.168.1.20 or 192.168.1.2 this is when you have a router....
Some of you might need to open certain ports in the router like 20715 ...... Router access page address varies but mostly it is 192.168.1.1.
Others need to provide their ip address provided from their isps... This information can be accessed through the router page under wan ip....
Or simply go to www.speedtest.net and your Ip will show up on the speed test page....
If ur ip is for example 192.168.1.2:27015 in hlds speed test will definitely show you another ip for ex 172.24.31.31 (this is my ip on speed test)
So my HL dedicated server address will be 172.24.31.31:27015.

i ahve followed ur all steps and when I open the hlds launcher and go 2 console there it is written
couldn't exec banned_user.cfg

Hello.
When i try to start my server, it says that Couldn't allocate dedicated server IP port 27015
I tryed a lot of ports but not worked.
Help plz?
