I know a similar one, but, if what you say still goes, then I would say it is also a better one.
It does not give you uni.cc domain names, but co.cc domain names.
Contrary to the ones you mention, they do not display any advertising on your site whatsoever, they are also completely free of charge, and not just for one.
You can have two co.cc domains completely free, and if you donate a small amount of money you can get more.
As for the DNS you are complaining about:
You claim it takes something like 3 hours, well, with ANY host at all, propagation of your DNS CAN (that does not mean "will") take up to 72 hours, although it rarely does.
I had an issue recently, where I had migrated between webspace hosts, and after the migration, I had problems with both my email and my webspace.
As soon as i had switched my DNS back to my original hosting provider, my email worked perfectly again (the rest took a bit longer to propagate, but certainly less than 3 hours).
Also, the co.cc domains work happily with Google mail, i am using one which is routed through Google mail, and i have NEVER had a single problem with it.
Anyway, before i forget, to get a co.cc domain (or two), visit this website.
I find them very reliable and have not regretted using them for a second.
And, at the risk of repeating myself: they are totally ad-free.
Good luck.

co.cc domains are being used for spam sites and sites that preloaded with viruses. i don't recomend this service at all for anyone. in fact, google has been deleting co.cc sites from their indexed list by the thousands. they have made it a point to let people know they don't support this free domain as it's being misused and abused.
when's the last time you saw a co.cc domain listed in the top ten search results? anyone foolish enough to get one and think they are going to aquire a lot of visitors will have all their hard work creating a website for nothing except for the owner to stare at it wondering why the site statistics are below average
forget about paying $10 for 100. i wouldn't even touch a free one.
the alternative is to wait for a company who promotes free domains for a limited time. it happens about a couple time a year through different companies. if you go this route though, look for the fine print and try to figure out their gimick. there are a lot of companies willing to give something away for free only to charge you a lot more in the future for the same service you can get cheaper elsewhere.

Hello All,
Just read this post and I have another option for you all.
its called Dot.tk it gives you all the domain names you want with .tk as the hosting point. they are all free, and they have an associated email service as well....
the only catch is that you need a minimum number of hits to retain the site, which is a fair call. if you don't get your hits then the domain is dropped, mind you if thats the case you wait 7 days go back in and just add that domain again.
Click here for the Dot TK domain name service
I've been using the site for the past few years, and its a brilliant service.
Cheers
