Well, my prayers were answered - Smart Install Maker was rerun a few weeks ago and I managed to grab it.

However, I have my doubts about this program. Every Installer made by Smart Install Maker, including the one that installs the program itself, is flagged as a "Backdoor-IRC.Based" in aSquared AntiVirus. This worries me because if I make an installer using Smart Install Maker in order to distribute a program, and something thinks that the installer is a backdoor, people could think my program was questionable and may tell install it, or even tell others not to install it. This'd hurt my reputation.

I'd like to know whether or not these "Backdoor" warnings are genuine or just a false alarm; and if any other scanners generate this warning before I use it for anything serious.

Hmmm... Do you get the same output from any other AV software besides aSquared? I thought it could also help for looking into google search:Smart Install Maker Backdoor-IRC.Based but it seems nobody else is getting the output because the first result is this thread  :)

Also, the backdoor warnings may mean that the program messes with your C:\Windows or Sys32 or any other crucial folder for Windows, but it doesn't have to mean that it does something bad :)

Btw, the give away of the day is a really nice page, you can even make people buy your app. even if they have it for free because it shows how much you appreciate your users by giving it for free just for 1-2 days, even though I prefer the free software approach :D
