Well, today I learned in my school (I'm in 9th grade) that the network has no security at all. Most public schools, as I have learned, don't protect themselves, they hire somebody when something goes wrong. I believe this is truly wrong. I was in the Computer Lab doing an important test over the Net, and the internet go shutdown. Apparently somebody hacked it. They didn't have access to it until they called the Network Security guy down to fix it.

This is pretty bad. What do you guys think?

Well my school has pretty good internet security, they have a firewall, and lots of blocked sites but students hack past the firewall, all the time. Most of the kids at my school dislike the amount of protection but I am ok with it because I mean it keeps us safe, but even sometimes i think there is too much just because i cant get on a site i like without the chance of getting busted.I have mixed feelings about the subject but I dont think I would do it much different.

In my school there is open-source software only. There is an old Edubuntu version installed, and every child has got username and password , a limited account.

The internet is secured with OpenDNS. A strictly OpenDNS set , and all games, social networking sites , explicit content sites are blocked.

Anyway , everyone is using proxy websites and accessing all that websites... But they don't know that they are sending the user/pass information to the proxy site :D
