Hi Guys,

Lately I have had this same annoying pop-up dialog box pop up that says:

Quote

NOTICE: If your computer has been running slower than normal, it may be infected with Viruses, Adware, or Spyware.

Adwareremover2007 will perform a quick and completely FREE scan of your system for malicious programs.

Download AdwareRemover2007 for FREE now!

I have scanned it with Avira AntiVirus and ad-aware2007. They both returned infected files, which i deleted, but i still have the pop-ups.

Any ideas?

try Google those symptoms. There maybe a removal method on there somewhere. Sometimes scanners and anti virus software aren't enough to completely remove certain viruses.

Good luck.

One of my business' computer was doing the similar thing. Although it wasn't the same pop-up but basically it was trying to promote this anti-virus software--ultimately to make me purchase the program.

I ran Spybot Search & Destroy today and it caught 7 registry changes that cause unnecessary pop-ups. Proceeded to clean my system and viola~ no more pop-ups.

Well wit hthat particular pop it's not so much of the ad/spy/malware being installed on your computer, it is rather websites you visit that particular pop up shows up. You will see that pop up in torrent sites, porn sites, and any other "immoral" website you can think of, however, since that is were you most likely picked up that spyware as quoted by this website, removing it shouldn't be hard by following the instructions for removing it. Although that is the long and tedious way like buff mention update and run spybot both in normal and safe mode and see if spybot picks it up or not, and if not then the long and tedious way it is.

It probably is spyware, so when I had this problem, I backed up my files that I needed and then I reinstall my computer. It works, but you will have to set everything up again. But before that, try what delivi said, because reinstalling is the last thing you would want! (or the last I would). :P

I use a virus scanner from Kingsoft, but it's in chinese, so try Kaspersky AntiVirus, it's almost as good. Google it, then try the trial. Or, if you are using IE6, I suggest you upgrade, because hackers and spies can get through IE6 very easily. www.microsoft.com <--- IE7 download

Thanks for the help guys my computer is now pop-up free. I ran Spybot Search & Destroy and it found a few little nasties, and ever since there's been no problems.

Blank popup
Pop-up Virus / Trojan Problem

I have a pop up that won,t go away, it is a blank pop up with a small internet explorer symbol in the top left hand corner. If I right click on it to try and see properties it only gives you the option to close or move. I can close it but it comes back after about 60 seconds. I have run Ad Aware, Kapersky, Ad Watch, Superanti spyware, and Threat fire, and still can,t get rid of has anyone got any ideas.

Well I had a popup that actually attached to my IP similiar symptoms and i also had an anti virus ad that would keep loading it self up in the registry....

The best idea may well be to actually unhook your pc from the net do a complete rescan and then go through the registry bit by bit... although this may take a little while it will definetly remove it for good.
