This is a nice add-on for Microsoft Powerpoint that generates Flash (.swf) files from Powerpoint presentations. I find that this can be a very useful tool for educational purposes and let me make my Powerpoints more creative than just using the viewer. I could incorporate my Powerpoints into a blog or a webpage and be able to view it on any web browser with Flash. The only problem is that it's interface is inside of Powerpoint. This means I must use Powerpoint in order to generate the Flash files. I would much rather use OpenOffice.org Impress, but I can still make the Powerpoints inside of Impress and generate in Powerpoint. Overall the product seems very useful and is certainly worth the free download for you students out there. I wouldn't go to say it is worth $100 USD though. If I wanted to pay over $300 (iSpring - $100, Microsoft Office Standard - $ 325)for a Flash movie, I would just get Flash.

Hi,
1)the simple version of ispring is free, not $100. I use it a lot and it works great. I don't need a customisable player, and SCORM support.
2)it is much faster to create something with powerpoint than it is with flash.

Of course Flash is much more versatile, but also has a steep learning curve.

I would also like to ask what kind of Flash are you talking about. Is it animations, movies, or web based directives. I'm rather confused on where you are going with this. Couldn't you just use like Flash and make animations and then embed into your PP? iSpring sounds rather expensive though, and like you said Flash would probably better for the more technologically advanced people. Could you link an example on how it was used for you? It looks really interesting and I think I would love to use it for my classes. My PPs are often boring, and I like showing examples and explaining through images over talking, they say pictures are a 1000 words, I wonder how much a Flash Video would be.
