I find it hard to believe that we are the cause of global warming. The world is always changing I mean we had an ice age, and at one time all the land was one big mass. Where I live we have a lake that was formed by a glazer it is one of the deepest made glazers around, well with that in mind I dont see any glazers around here. I am not aying that we don't contribute to global warming but, the world is always changing. Look at the glazer melt downs I mean what about the lost city of antlantic did it sink or just get flooded? I think the enedibal is the earth is going to change weather or not we help it or not, its just a matter of time.
Let me know your thoughts.

I agree with you on how the world is always changing but, there is evidence that global warming is changing the environment in abnormal ways. For instance I wrote an essay on how the affects of global warming has effected the growing seasons and day lengths in Canada compared to southern Florida. Pitcher plant mosquitoes have had to genetically adapt to this change in the environment as well as the climate. You can see the article I wrote about it here: http://www.trap17.com/forums/global-warmin...oes-t56936.html. My belief is that that Global Warming is just a growing issue that has plenty of evidence to back it up. As well as the change in the environment people are going to have to do the same and change the ways we have been treating the environment by cutting down on Greenhouse gases and using alternative methods to producing energy as well as alternate fuels for transportation use, we will be seeing more of this in the future let me tell you. Thats a FACT.

I have started to change my opinion about global warming. For a while ago I thought that humans were the only reason for global warming, that we all caused it. Now I think it could be a combination. Yes, this has all happened before - but this fast?

I agree with savge17 that we need alternative methods for transportation use. I do not think people will actually start to do anything about that before we run out of oil or something. What makes me a bit mad is that the opportunity's are there, but each country do not do enough to get that technology out to the people, make them use it. Saying that people need to "drive less, take the bus, use less energy" is not working quite well! We have a... uh, I do not know what it is called... heating pump? Well a fan that blows out warm air and is supposed to heat up our house. It does not work good so we need to use our fireplace all the time... unless it would be freezing here. I am just really tired of the way many things are organized here... they could reduce a lot of things were organized better. Because that is all it is about, organizing the whole thing. And that is a hell of a job, not something I would do.

We can help reduce global warming, but it is hard for one person to get started with it. The easiest thing is just not to care.

I dont think it is happening fast, I believe it has been happeneing over a long period of time. As far as the mosquitoes thing well at one time there wher dinosaurse and caveman they are now exstinck how ever small reptiles took there place and we evolved and took the caveman place so this was a change. So even if we and other plants and anomals become ecstincked, mabe we will evolve into somthing more advanced along with the plants and animals. I am not curtain but it seems that global warmming has been around since the world has been. I am not arguing your posts just giving my thoughts so dont take this the wrong way. Its just thoughts that I have as for a solution well if its a natural accurance well we all have none but if its a cause that we created then we should find a solution to the problem. And as far as fosial fuel and nateral gas ect. is it there to be used or was it there just to be there what is the main reason for its exsitance?

Who was the genius that proved that the Sun wasn't the cause of global warming and the melting of the ice caps on Mars?

Humans aren't necessarily the MAIN cause of global warming, it's just that we contribute too much to the progression of it. Before, global warming was caused by the gases expelled by volcanoes that continually erupt and change the face of the planet. Those gases contribute to the increase of the temperature of the atmosphere and thus the continuous melting of the caps (and the rise of the sea level). It's a cycle that continuously happen over time. With the development of technology, humans don't realize that they're already affecting the environment. It's ignorance in our part not to notice such stuff, only when it's too late when we try to act.

Global warming is a natural thing, volcanoes and maybe earth is just turning back to its natural state before Ice Age. Its probably happening slow but we might have some problems from 2020 and on, if Amazon gets burned we will have a hell of a time. Humans are just accelerating the process, its Ignorance of our part to not notice what was going to happen, while we evolve animals suffer x_X. I don't think going to other planets will help us, we might start a global warming there and destroy another planet =/

Previously, when I heard that people were actually rejecting the fact that global warming was happening and we need to do something to stop it, I thought they were being ignorant, because from a rather young age in school, our science teachers were already telling us about human atrocities causing global warming. After reading the responses so far, I agree that global warming may have seemed to be a natural process. However, our actions are definitely accelerating the process and making it worst than it originally should have been.

I really appreciate all the info and I hope I see more. It seems like global warmming is enedibal thing and will ghappen no matter what we do to stop it. I was watching like a descovery channel on tv the other day and they where talking about plants in flordia that where dying out but found other plants from flordia migrating north. And in the bible (revalations) it talks of a new world after this one is burned. Are we doomed or is there a solution to the global warmming problem?
