Hello.
I am new here to trap17.com and would really like some input on my site.
Echo Of Thunder
Made using Dream Weaver and note pad. Planning on a better forum and chat page as time goes by.
This is just a little hobby that I have. "weather" and I hope that you all here at trap17 will take a look see, and tell me what you all think.

Its a cool website
Tbh, i'd give it a 9 out of 10. It's clear, and straight to the point. No faffing around, no havign to look for stuff. Which I love in websites
the colour schemes cool, and I like the use of the interactive charts and stuff.
Two things however:
Logo - Its a cool logo, but it should flash on for longer...and maybe add some lightning forks to it
The Auto Play on the radio/song/whatever - I only dislike this, because it played over my music
Other than that though, very cool website

I have tried to visite your web site, but it says "You need to install Java to view all content on this page. Do you want to download Java now?". So I need to install Java to view your website. If any day I install Java, I will try to visite your site again. Hop that time I will find a better forum and chat page there. Wish your success.

The website is meh. I personally hate images for backgrounds, they just make it look meh. Also, the way the content is positioned looks really bad. If this is your first website then it is decent. But I would work on it a bit more. Try to find some CSS layouts and make it not be so long, but make it have overflow and stuff like that.

I don't really know what to say about it.
To be honest, I can't think of much that I liked.
No offense.
I'm not going to talk about the content/purpose of the website at all,
Because that stuff is all subjective.
Well, more subjective than the rest.
Anyway,
the whole site just has a VERY late 90's feel to it.
Hell,
That's the kind of site I was making back in Grade 5 when I spent all day on Neopets.
In fact, I think the navigation menu and the banner at the top of the page were taken from pre-made sources that I used to USE on Neopets stuff.
Also, the background doesn't help.
It just doesn't seem to be in the standardly accepted style anymore to have a background -image- directly behind the content.
Maybe if the body image was behind a Div or even a table, but not directly behind the text.
Also,
I'd consider breaking the index up into more pages.
And taking away the centered everything.
It makes it look really tacky... And as I said before, like a personal website site from the late 90's.
Sorry I couldn't say anything better :/
I actually came into this wanting to say something positive xD

Try to use a CMS system, it will be a better result

Well thank you all, Some good things and some bad, which I don't really mind.
that much.
In time the site will get better I know. And yes Java is required. As for the background, just something that I had been playing with in PSP. Really don't care for the raindrops and lightening myself, but really dont care for a soild BG too, so kinda stuck with it for now.
and Yes I know things would run and look faster using CSS but my skills in CSS are like the football player with 2 left feet in on roller skates.
And also yes it is set up for hurricane season now, which starts here on May1st 2008. During the winter months it is set up for storms all over the USA. Some pretty wicked ones this winter came in on the westh cost I might add.
TY all again

I am with some of the other posters, this website doesn't go with the current trend. Maybe 10 years ago with the repeating image background and stacking everything on top of each other. What I recommend is that you get yourself a nice organized template to give your site a cleaner look. I recommend check out this website for some good templates to your site a more cleaner look. Also, not to keen on the banner either, because of that constant flashing, maybe if you had the text stay put and animate some lighting bolts then it would look better. I ran your site through a validator you have about 180+ errors, mostly from the java applets from the look if it.
Another recommendation is have a page for each applet that way your main page won't take long to load. Also your chat page is down so you might want to fix that as well so don't forget to check that page. Other then those problems, your off to a start just need to work at designing your site a bit more.
