Hi all!

I am an asp.net programmer and I created my website http://www.counter43.com/ to track my web projects. I am not a web designer and never will be  Any advice on web design will be greatly appreciated and any advice on tracking statistics will be helpful too. The site has been online for more than 1 year but I do not see any traffic on it or new registrations. It seems that something is wrong and friendly comments will help me a lot.

Thank you!

Hmmmmmm. How does one politely say yuck? :D

Honestly, your homepage seems like a blog of updates and bug fixes. It should simply sell your product. Mainly, the grammar isn't good enough. I leave a site when I see misspelled words or poor sentence structure. The map is pointless and too big.

Your homepage should be a bit more like your 'features' page. Hit the important points with thumbnail screenshots of the map showing a visitors location, the graphs with short explanations, etc.

The service is free!

Invisible hit counter available!

Know where your visitors come from!

etc. Keep it simple and to the point. If you need to get somebody else to write the copy, then do it! Hint: women often excel at writing. Do you know a secretary or English major among your group of friends?

Also, your site needs a name with a more attractive logo.

Does your site store the stats? I assume so. Include that on your homepage.
Do we simply cut n paste a short bit of code onto our pages? Mention that on the homepage, too.

Beyond that, I like the concept of your service. I used to use statcounter.com. Similar service. Check their site out to get some design ideas.

i did not understand what the product is and thats where you failled.

it took me a while to reralise that this was a website statistics thing i had to look around the site to learn this. your first page should give general information about the product not updates. the updates should either be only for a registered members or on another page not the front page. so you should seriously fix that because from the little i read this has some good potential.

despite that the site looks great. if you want more visitors just submit it to search engines so potential customers can see it when they're looking for stuff like this. and again this has a lot of potential.

Well I think that this very basic design might be really good place to work from on the site. But this site will certainly not present you as serious programmer and designer but made as serious programmer but not as designer. Maybe you should search internet for custom made free solutions there is hall bunch of them already and then change what you like dislike delete addit and you might get some usuful web design. Without too much trouble.

AlsO I haven't tried any of your programs and I would like to know what is the point of the login script.

good idea I thought about something like this too, and I also seen this kind of idea on some sites/web directories..
It's a little buggy...and not so easy to understand all the function can offer at a first look, can be improved it's a good start I guess(don't know from how long you're a programmer)

its pretty good and the forums are also good. i'm not a web designer and i'm pretty crappy with graphics and everything but i think the layout of the webpage and the overall feel to it is a bit uncomfortable. i can't put my finger on it but it just seems weird. but the service and the product is good so all you need ot work on is getting visitors and making the layout a little bit more friendly i guess. the forums are good (these days all websites practically have a forum), what forum maker did you use? vbulletin, simple machines, ipboard (i'm pretty sure you didn't because the style isn't the ipBoard style), or phpBB?

I'll be honest and say I don't like it very much. I think it isn't at all visually appealing, the colors are not only hard to read but hard to look at (Your text is some weird vomit color?)

I don't think the website makes it clear enough what it is about and if fails to make any lasting impression of professionalism on me.

I'm sorry but it needs more work, but keep at it :)
