Ok, I must be special or something, cuz I don't get it! Actually I just asked one of my roommates and he didn't get it either. But a better punchline would be:
Time to get a new chair.
Could you explain it to me, just so it doesn't bug be for days!

i can visualize Ka-Wing's punchline... but only if the elephant split the chair exactly in two, and he stay plunked in the middle of the halves. 
nevertheless, i would agree, it's really the time to get a new chair.
