hey i'm looking for games similar to Hitman and Max Payne that have a good story line behind them. Plus have good graphics.
Like splinter cell.Spending hours and hours for a batter way.Every time you play the game every time you find a batter way.

FYI, those games isnt known as strategy games and its under action games although the actual genre is known as spy / assassin / stealth .

IF you like those games, you should consider the Thief series.. its a stealth based FPS (First Person Stealth) games set in the early ~ late 1920s.

How about Stalker-Clear Sky. It has got amazing graphics and is a real stealth killer fps. It does burn out tons of processing power but the resulting graphics is superb.

I liked the Hitman series for the story which they carried on in thier sequels. Seeing the bullets zoom through is not something which is seen in a fps game. Probably Hitman was the first game to bring stealth aspect of game.

I also really liked Hitman series, it's really great to play those spy/stealth games.. Even though best I liked Hitman 1 and Hitman 2, later versions didn't pic me up to play further.. If you liked Hitman and Thief, even though I never played Thief, but my friend said that it's really good, you could also try these games:

NOLF 2 is not a stealth based FPS but lean more towards the standard FPS. Even though some stage, it requires you to stealth but just to avoid being detected, that is it.

Project IGI is fun indeed. An underated Ubisoft made FPS. I used to have that game.

I myself was looking for a list of these games but could not compile a list. My friends gave me a couple of DVD games but I did not like them much as it as way to boring Half life 2 is a game I think is a classic in itself and it does have a history legacy with it.
Lots of horror and scream makes it fully enjoyable game.

buy a playstation and get metal gear solid, you will not be disappointed

I don't really view Hitman as a "strategy" game but some games somewhat similar are like Dead to Rights (which is pretty cool with slow motion attacks and stuff) and Metal Gear Solid.
