So here's the deal. I have this computer for I think 3 years now. Then one of this days it started to hang. It hangs when I'm playing Ragnarok Online, but as of the moment, I'm just surfing the internet and everything is fine. I don't know what the problem is. I've formatted this several times thinking that the problem was a virus. I also have a habit of turning of the computer by the AVR, I mean I don't shut it down properly. Could it be the case? I just thought that if i keep doing that maybe some parts of my pc will be damaged. I don't really know what's the problem here.

Here's the info of my pc.

so the pentium d is the dual core? do you know what model number? i have the pentium d 805 which is a dual core @2.66 but i have it overclocked...

your graphics card is a little outdated and thats the only thing that i can think can cause that problem.

what web browser are you using?

try using firefox or google chrome....

are you planning on upgrading? i would upgrade the graphics card and a bigger hard drive.

I dont quite know how your problem would arise, hell, i don't even know what you mean by 'hang'. But i'd just like to say that I'm using the same graphics card as you (older driver version by a month) and i have the same storage capabilities as you as far as Hard Drive goes, you have more RAM and a better processor. And i play a bunch of games on my computer without any problems that are noticeable/effect my game play. Perhaps it's your internet connection or the video card has gone bad somehow and when the computer demands more out of it, it does whatever 'hanging' is. Sorry i cant be of more help. Also, you're using Service pack 2, the latest is Service Pack 3. don't quite think that would effect it though...

I think there's really something damaged in this pc. Cause right now I'm just browsing and everything is fine. Later when I'll play eventually it will hang. So do you guys think that the prob is the vidcard?

Note: As I said before I shutdown the computer improperly. Could it also damage the parts of my computer?

I highly doubt that shutting it down improperly can damage it. I used to shut my computer down like that all the time when it would normally take 5 minutes for it to fully shut down and nothing was wrong with it. I think that the only thing shutting down properly does is saves any changed settings, or positioned files on the desktop, (i noticed that new files i put on the desktop wouldn't stay in the right location until properly shut down) but yeah that's about it i think. Try unplugging the video card and using the internal one? (if there is one), or plugging in an alternate video card if you have one.

Acer Aspire M5641 Problems~My Computer Hangs

I have a problem with my Aspire M5641... I was playing Mabinogi one day.. And all of a sudden my Aspire froze up.. I couldn't even load Task Manager.. The whole thing went dead. So I manually turned off the computer.. After that, I rebooted. I went to play Mabinogi again.. Same problem.. Froze up earlier this time though.. After that.. Manual reboot.. Open it up.. I get the option to Let Windows repair automatically (Recommended). I load that.. I get a blue screen instead of a fix. Now it won't finish with the Blue screen and restart! So I manually reboot again.. Now it does the same thing.. Goes to Let windows repair.. Blue screen.. Manual reboot.. Then I try Run windows normally.. I do.. Doesn't load up fully.. Half way through the loading screen..My monitor goes into sleep mode.I turn my monitor on.. Goes back into sleep mode. I manually reboot. Same problem as before.. Loads half way, and then bails to sleep mode..  Changed monitors, same problem. Waited 24 hours and dusted.. Now I turn it on. I hear it load up.  And my monitor doesn't even do anything.. Just the computer is on. I switch with 3 different monitors.. Exact same problem.. As I write this.. I still have the same problem! Any help would be very appreciated! Thankies~ :3
