Me and some friends were watching a horror movie & ends up there was a bit of bumping & grinding involved plus loud screaming during those scenes. Well my mom was also watching and it was soo embarassing, because she kept asking me whether this was porn! LOL!

I used to hate that growing up Id be watching a movie on tv and people would start kissing etc. My mom would be there saying how awful it was to see that on tv and ask to change the channel :D Now watchinig tv with my older boys its funny cause when someone starts kissing my 14 year old starts marching up the stairs...LOL I guess I dont have to worry about him and dating yet :D

Ugh... Sex scenes are the most awkward thing EVER. Even now, any sexual jokes or even just kissing and my mummy gives me a whole speech (sex talk--i'm all grown up, wtf?) or just sits and stares at me until it's over. Awful, just awful.

I remembering watching Titanic in theaters with my parents when I was 10 years old or so. The infamous drawing scene caused some immense discomfort. And when Leo and Ms. Winslet got it on in the car? Forget about it.

I try to avoid such situations at all costs at this point. Granted, I am seventeen, but there's nothing wrong with being a little bit extra cautious, is there? Heh, heh...

If im watching a sex/kissing scene on TV and my mom comes in, i will usully get up and start walking around the room. she never sees me. it is so weird she just sits there and watches the scene untill its over. then, as soon as it ends, she says are u sure u should be watching things like that? and i say, "look whose talkin, google eyes" and she will sometimes start busting up, and other times start look at me, shake her head, and walk out of the room. yes i have a weird family.

It is always embarrasing to watch any sex scene with my parents. I just wish at that time to go into the other room but if i will do this thing it will be more embarrasing.

Yep... I agree. Watching sex scenes on TV with your parents can be very embarrassing. The only solution that works for me is to simply stayi calm and focused, like nothing happened. Don't look at them, don't move and just stay in the position that you were in during the whole movie. This way, I give my parents notice that "I am not interested in those awful, awful sex scenes on TV".

Oh god, don't even get me started. It is so bad, even watching stuff like American Pie. I just sit there and fidget while my parents just glance over. Its so hilarious. I usually watch movies with sex in them in my room. That way i dont have to worry about parents.

Go figure. I always enjoyed them when I was younger. Now who cares I watched a lot of porn so a sex scene is nothing. I remember watching a few scenes from basic instinct over and over when I was younger. Before the internet I use to know how to set the timer on my VCR.

I live with my dad. So I dont have to worry about the mom thing.. I usually just tell him to cover his eyes, that this isnt appropriate for him to view. LOL.

It is awkward though, to say the least.

Uhhh.... right, dude.

Anyway, most people would feel uncomfortable with their parents in any situation involving sex. It's normal, but not necessarily a good thing. Parents are afraid of talking to their kids about sex because they're afraid of exposing their children to it and possibly turning them into little perverts or something, I dunno. Either way, because of the way society is structured nowadays, sex is more commonly accepted as part of everyday human life, but when it comes to communication on the subject between a child and his or her parents, it's a lost cause. Seeing it on TV with them in the same room is even worse. It's just a result of their upbringing. It may even be the same with you and your kids some day.

my parents are quite open about society's taboos, i can communicate with them and they don't hide me almost nothing.

but TV is not the best way to learn about sex. it's something that must be discussed at home and school. yes! school...

in Uruguay, a little country in Latin America, most of 6th grade classes (11 years kids) have teachers who study sexologic-related stuff. I had one, and we had talks with in the class, and talked about HIV, condoms, develop, etc; and did meetings with our parents.

The sad thing is, the porn industry makes so much money a year as one of the highest-grossing industries in the US, because people can't seem to get enough of it, yet at the same time, they try to hide it.

Has anyone noticed that the "Relevant Links" in this thread are all porn related?
