Hey guys. I have a big issue with my mainpage on my site. I've input a transparent navigation strip in under the banner under the "<body>" tag. Thing is, the navigation strip shows fine, but the banner....well...it doesn't. I've done CTRL+F5 for a hard refresh, and it starts to load then stops. Obviously something wrong with the code that is allowing it to load. But the thing is, I cannot find the line of the problem. I don't know what's wrong. :( Can someone help me please?

Mainsite link: http://central-gaming.net.

Source Code:

<body>

<table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="955" height="854">

<tbody>

<tr>

<td valign="top"><img alt="" title="" src="http://forums.central-gaming.net/style_images/14_11_central-gaming_banner.PNG" width="954" height="140" />

<table style="width: 950px; height: 27px" align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">

<tbody>

<tr><br />

<br />

<div class="headnav">

<ul>

<li><a href="../../index.php">Home</a></li>

<li><a href="http://forums.central-gaming.net/">Forums</a></li>

<li><a href="http://forums.central-gaming.net/index.php?automodule=downloads">Downloads</a></li>

<li><a href="http://forums.central-gaming.net/index.php?automodule=downloads&amp;req=search&amp;cmd=browse">Browse Submissions</a></li>

<li><a href="http://forums.central-gaming.net/index.php?automodule=downloads&amp;req=idx&amp;cmd=new">Submit A Mod</a></li>

<li><br />

</li></ul></div></tr></tbody>

From line 17 to 34. The problem must persist between those lines. Any help?

Shouldn't there be </table> and </body> tags at the end? those are missing, and you should try validating the code too. You should also make sure that you have defined the encoding and charset in the head tag.

Anyway, try those, if it works out, great, if it doesn't, I think I'm too limited in knowledge to offer any more information about the subject.

This one is a bit offtopic, but you shouldn't use tables, they're terrible.

I can't see what the problem is... I can see the five links (Home, Forums, etc.) below the banner, which I believe is what you were trying to achieve? There is a small gap between the bottom of the banner and the horizontal menu, but other than that I see no problems (apart from using tables for layout :( ).

All seems well for now, though the board will be offline for a few weeks now. I am in the middle of another update with the entire site. I have coded some IPB mods exclusive for Central-Gaming. I just need some good HTML/xHTML, DHTML coders to help me. :angel:

Any volunteers? :(
