Artisteer (v2) is a template maker from which you can make templates and export it as wordpress , Drupla and joomla temllates.
If you are working on wordpress or any other CMS you might know how important your theme is.With Artisteer you can Design your own templates according to you .
Ther are many prededined styles litke Gradient, textures wallpaprs.
you can set page width , height , Article layout type ,color combos , page layout types , Hedder height/width , footer height/width , menu buttons, shadows, Offset etc
there's a whole lot of custom options in it, but is you know scripting you'll find somethings missing like tou cannot ad another column/space below the header for slideshow or newsflash , you can for sure do that in the later part if you you now scripting.(so there are limits)
Now coming to other part the artisteer layout contain 2 layers one the main background and the content page you cna set the width/transparency of the main content page

Now coming to exporting it .
The theme is by default made on .artx ext so you can save and load only .artx if your template is compleated you can export it as Wordpress , Drupal , Joomla the at a single click . But if you want to edit an existing joomla, wp, or drupal theme you cannot do it because it Wont do that(many reason if yo've used CMS earlier u'll know)
For newbies it only opens/loads .artx file and there is no file of .artx extension in the theme/template package

Here in the links below i've illustrated

Sample (default theme) http://z.hubpages.co...954583_f260.jpg

working enviornment -http://www.topnotchthemes.com/files/updates/Screenshot-5.png , http://img242.images...artisteer3.jpg/

Artisteer is not an open source app but you can download its free version the only limit in it that it ads Artisteer watermarks all over the page . Rest functionaly is full so you can try it .

You can always get mods to remove the watermarks :D
Plz share them olso :)

Have you ever try it? What kind of watermark will be placed on our site? If it's exported, then I suppose it should be exported as php and css files right? I hope you could give some review, or maybe your original theme :)

Ya here are the watermarks i've uploaded a theme i made
http://ashut17images...m/Artisteer.GIF

Coming to Your sec question yes they are exported as php as CSS files . It is Exactly similar to ones you download .

Here is a better view of the files
Save/working format - http://ashut17images...b.com/Saved.GIF

Export format(wordpress)- http://ashut17images...b.com/Files.GIF

similar will be results for Drupal & joomla

I would have posted them earlier but trap 17 dont allow images so i had to sign up to a 110mb server and uplodedd them
if you have any queries plz feel free to ask me

wow, that's really a "watermark" thing..... But it's too much there. although we can remove it manually by reading and editing (maybe) all of php n css files.

have you ever tried to remove the watermark?

So, they put the watermark when we convert the artx files into template files. I read about this here :
http://bewegaleri-networks.co.cc/wordpress...steer-template/
It's really painful, but it's worth enough to try :)

Maybe I'll try it later, when I use XP of course. I'm sure they haven't made any package for linux yet ;p

artisteer - serious software and attitude issuesMaking Wp,drupal, joomla Themes With Artisteer

We bought a license and tried it out. The theme breaks in IE6. ItBreaks to the extent that it freezes the browser and nothing works.PNGFix did not help either. Paul Hudson over at Artisteer has been lessThan eager to help, and belligerently points out that Drupal sucks forImplementing the CSS and JS aggregation feature under 'Performance'.Rather than treat us like a proper paying customer, he's suggesting IProve to him that Artisteer themes are obliged to work with thesePerformance features switched on. He thinks Drupal should fix the issue.

Bottomline is this: If you use modules such as ubercart that pushThe number of CSS over IE's limit, you need to have CSS aggregationTurned on, and this means Artisteer will cause 20% of the world'sBrowsers to freeze. Support at Artisteer will spend their time tryingTo prove you and Drupal wrong rather than fix the issue or treat youWith any respect.

Artisteer can be a useful tool for forming some ideas and designs. But don't expect some beautiful theme popping up when checking out the random themes. Only a real human designer /coder could craft a beautiful and correct validated, stable theme.

A few months ago I used it to create a template for a drupal site, it was really nice looking when editing on the artisteer program. But when the theme was installed on to actual website with modules and stuff like that the theme broke. For example it completed disfigured the advanced forum module display. Also you need to look up a lot of css code to understand and make minor changes afterwards.

But still, I would say the price of the software is very much reasonable compared to getting a single theme by a professional designer, and one gets the satisfaction of editing the themes to ones own likes. The software could be very useful for beginners like bloggers and people who spend more time producing content than designing. Its just fine for developing a pretty basic website.

But for developers heres just my two cents:

1) Need exceptional debugging skills to make changes to theme (css) afterwards.

2) No fluid layouts possible, but can hack through for people with good skills, but again the stability of the themes can not be guaranteed. Its better to get along with css zen, garland, sky themes of drupal.

artiseer has MANY MANY limits..
For if you look at the general layouts artiseer offeres you'll notice that it's all a box with or without rounded corners sitting in the center of the screen. and every page that artiseer generates is using the same layout so you can't really have a different layout for different pages
on the plus side it does save alot time

templates with ArtisteerMaking Wp,drupal, joomla Themes With Artisteer

Note that you can create different templates and then assign a template for a menu item, another template for a different menu item etc.

I agree that a fluid template is needed.

You are kidding, right?Making Wp,drupal, joomla Themes With Artisteer

I have only use dartisteer with joomla. And if you want dif layouts for each page its as easy as piss. You just create a variation of your current template and assign it to the menu items in question.

I guess is you are using it to make HTML, then you are gonna be stuck in the static land, so, for that, all you do is make your variations in artisteer and call the html and css in the head of the page...

simple, but still needs the EFFORT INPUT from YOU.
