Opera has launched Opera Turbo Beta 3 with improvements in Opera Turbo and refinements to the overall look and feel of the previous Opera 10 betas.

If you don't know what is Opera Turbo then it is a compression tool for faster surfing.

New Beta version supports whopping total of 38 languages :P
Go and give it a try ;) :P :P
Also, if you are aware of any tips and tricks which you think really boost internet connection speed or can be
helpful for others then post it.....

Personally I think these addons are a waste of time. When i had internet that wasn't fast I used to experiment with all these speed boosters and speed addons but they never worked. Alot of them normally ask for money or just make it look fast by caching browser data in different ways. I usually look at colosing programs tthat use internet and then go onto Firefox or Internet explorer and browse, that's all you can really do. Or buy new internet.

Then again I never really liked Opera's browser interface or features. I cannot go without AdBlock Plus and UsageMeter + all the features of Firefox ;)

Do you really use internet explorer for surfing?
It really sucks on slower internet connection like on my connection.

Mozilla Firefox is really a fantastic web browser.
Can anyone tell me tips to improve web surfing experience in Mozilla Firefox!
I have heard about pipelining in firefox but don't know how to enable it ;)

Hey no, I am user of Mozilla Firefox and I love Mozilla Firefox. I got little information about pipelining in Mozilla Firefox which is below.

Quote

1. Open a new tab in Firefox (Ctrl+T) and type “about:config” (without the quotes) in your address bar.
2. In the “Filter:” search box, type “network.http” (again, without the quotes.) You don’t have to hit enter.
* Look for the “network.http.keep-alive” setting and make sure it’s set to “true”. If it’s “false,” double-click that line and it will change to true.
* On the same page, look for “network.http.version” and make sure it’s set to “1.1″
3. Now clear out the Filter box and type in “pipelining”
* Look for “network.http.pipelining” Right-click on that line, and click on “toggle” and be sure the value is set to “true” (or double-click to toggle values.)
* If you’re on a proxy, look for “network.http.proxy.pipelining” Right-click on that line, and click on “toggle” and be sure the value is set to “true”. If you don’t know if you’re on a proxy or not, just set it to “true” anyway. It won’t hurt anything.
* Lastly, look for “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” Right-click on that line, click on “modify” and set the value to 8. You can set it anywhere between 1 and 8. If you notice your internet is acting weird after this, try decreasing this value.
4. Keep in mind that this may not agree with some web servers, and therefore break the webpage. I have not personally experienced this yet, but this feature is still in testing, and that’s why it’s not set to “true” by default.

There you have it. Ignore the sites telling you to set the value to “30.” Those same pages will also tell you to create a new value called “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and to set that value to “0″. All this does is start displaying the information on the webpage sooner. nglayout.initialpaint.delay does not make your page load faster. In fact, it can make it load slower; especially on slower connections. If you create this value and set it to “0″ you will notice the page beginning to render right away, but it will take longer to finish completely.

hope you will enjoy it.

This seems interesting but just for one feature you can't expect people to switch to Opera even though it has quite a few disadvantages over the rest. Firefox is a brilliant browser and a lot of people are switching to it every day. But still the leader in the browser competition is IE! Do you know why?

IE has few fans and that's a well-known fact. But still, a lot of people are using it and that's because it comes along with their Windows package and they may simply not have the time to get to know about the pros and cons of other browsers. Some people do know about this but they are just too busy to make the switch.

When people are not ready to switch to more capable browsers like Firefox, how can we expect them to switch to a less popular browser like Opera? ;)

I've heard of Opera Turbo yeah. But I don't really like these modified programs as I don't really believe it'll increase your internet connection speed, I am okay with the normal Opera and Mozila.

Did you know all of this software and tweaks you do usally make your connection slower or do not change it at all. The only way to get a faster connection is to ask your provider for a better and faster package or switch providers all together to something like Virgin Media who are the fastest broadband company in the UK. If you know to you can get a 50MB download and upload speed from them. However it does require some special tweaking ;).

Take a look at some of these Internet Speed Boosters available

  • Google Web Accelerator 1.0.93.116
It is an add-on which promise to speed up your internet surfing on broadband connection. When a page is visited for a second time, Google uses page-saving devices like content 'prefetching' to ensure it is displayed as quickly as possible. It is available for Internet Explorer and Firefox.

  • Ashampoo Internet Accelerator 3.10
After analyzing computer it optimizes all the relevant settings with a single click. We  just have to select the automatic optimizer and thats all your internet connection has been optimized for maximum speed. The new version also includes an Internet connection speed test tool and if you are an advanced user you can still access all the individual settings and adjust them manually.

What is new in the version :

New layout

Boost and configure Internet Explorer and Firefox

Internet Cleaner – Now you can quickly erase your surfing history

Hosts File Checker – Protects you from against spyware

Interactive auto-check for key Internet access settings
It sounds good but note that it is not a freeware you will have to buy this software or you can download its trial version(10 day trial+ 30 day after email registration) to use it.
If you know or use any other internet speed booster which really improves the net speed then please tell me....

Oh I am stuck with firefox 3.5 which is really fast and I can't change it. I cannot find any other similar browser. I sometimes use IE8 when something goes wrong with firefox. I have build my entire web navigation through firefox, add-ons and plug-ins. Well I used to try opera sometimes ago but didn't like because it wasn't compatible with lots of application. Though this release makes me give a try to Opera.
