Those are some really weird error messages you're getting. You might want to try uninstalling it with Revo Uninstaller. It's free and works pretty well.

Internet Explorer is an integral part of Windows. Unless you purchase a copy of the OS that was made for the EU, I don't think you can un-install the IE version on your local machine.
Microsoft has a EU version which apparently allows you to affect the browser installation, but under any Windows OS I have run, un-installing the IE Browser will be reversed the next time you start the machine. This is due to the relationship between the IE Browser and the File system of Windows OS. I am not familiar with the exact particulars of Windows OS since I am running Linux, but this is what I understand about the problem you are having.

If you have IE upgraded then,

Quote

when you un-install Internet Explorer 8, your earlier version of Internet Explorer will be restored with your customizations (such as add-ins, Favorites, and your home page). That is, if you upgraded from IE7 to IE8, IE7 will be restored if you uninstalled IE8. If you upgraded from IE6 to IE8, IE6 will be restored if you uninstalled IE8.

For Windows Vista:
1. Click the Start Button and select Control Panel.
2. Select Programs (Programs and Features if you’re using the Classic View).
3. Select View installed updates (it will be under the Tasks column if you are using the Classic View).
4. Find and select Windows Internet Explorer 8 from the list of available updates.
5. Click the Uninstall button.
6. Restart your PC.

For Windows XP:
1. Click the Start Button and select Control Panel.
2. Select Add or Remove Programs.
3. Find and select Windows Internet Explorer 8 from the list of available applications.
4. Click the Remove button.
5. Restart your PC.

I would recommend using JV16 Power Tools to remove this, Simply download the trial version from Google it is the same as the full version no limited error fixing like some software out there. Give it ago this can also speed up your computer as well if you do a full scan, registry clean etc.

IE8 won't install. Receive the following:
Are you trying to uninstall or install IE8? They are different things you know -.- Everyone else seems to have figured it out that you want to uninstall(they don't apparently look anywhere other than the topic title, I'm very disappointed in them now :P Just Kidding)
I don't know how to uninstall IE, but I know how to disable it in XP:
1. Click the "start" button and choose "set program access and defaults", this will open up a new window.
2. In the current window there are icons on the left side, click on the one with "add/remove windows components". This will open a new window.
3. Now, there are component names and checkboxes are next to them. uncheck "Internet Explorer" and click ok.
It'll now take a while...
done!
I don't know what those errors mean if you're trying to install IE8. If you still get the error, try disabling IE first with the step-by-step instructions above and installing IE8 after that.

uninstall IE8 when it doesnHow Can I Uninstall IE8

I use Windows Vista Home Premium.

I cannot uninstall it because it doesn't show up in the "programs" in start/control panel/programs nad features OR control panel home/uninstall a program.

Also, I have been using "Revo Uninstaller" for more than a year and it doesn't show up in there either; even though I know it once was in their.

What I want to do is uninstall it and do a clean install because I've been having problems with it.

I do have a saved copy on my hard drive so that I can reinstall it.

System restore didn't help either.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Download CCleaner from CNET (downloads.com) and install it first. Open it up and go to Uninstall and then find Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 and double-click and it should open up the uninstaller and then go through the process. If it doesn't work, go to start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and restore it to a date before you installed IE8

This is because , Internet Explorer 8 is a default program in the Windows Vista OS. And Microsoft programed it so it doesn't show up in the uninstall it and use your own browser or something like that. Its a very lame idea by Mircosoft :)
