Anyone know how one can edit/create silverlight apps (for free), and how one might go about learning how to write the language?

Found some editors online...but they all seem to want cash...

It will be really hard to find a Silverlight editor application for free on the Internet.

However, if you are a student, you can get a free copy of Microsoft Expression Studio through the Microsoft Dreamspark program, which includes the application Microsoft Expression Blend (one of the tools you can use to create Silverlight applications.

Microsoft Dreamspark program for students: https://www.dreamspark.com/

In terms of learning how to program with Silverlight, you can look at books on Amazon such as Beginning Silverlight or Foundation Expression Blend to build your understanding in this platform. If you prefer learning Silverlight through web tutorials, you can access resources such as Kirupa.com (http://www.kirupa.co...light/index.htm) or Microsoft's own Silverlight tutorial center (http://silverlight.n...earn/tutorials/).

Well kirupa who is in product development of expression blend has many goodn tutorials. Expression blend is what you should for your silverlight apps.

But if you want free editor then Sharpdevelop can help you with code but for graphics it is not suitable and you have to spend money on editor if you want to get into development.

Well, I'll try my luck with expression blend free trial...too bad I'm not a student (those days are long gone).

Thanks though...if I have other questions...I'll be sure to ask.
