The support at compuhost has been pathetic.
I had successfully transferred a few domain names before to compuhost.
Not this time.
I requested the transfer of a domain, and received an email saying that I
couldn't transfer it, because the domain name was already taken.
I clearly requested a TRANSFER, not purchase of a new domain name.
It was unlocked, unprivate, and I gave them the proper verification code
and information.
On the second try, I received an email saying that the transfer had failed again
because a response was not received from the "Administrative contact".
The only email I received from them was the generic "Do not reply" email
that one receives when making a transfer.
They told me to place a new transfer. I can't because the old transfer
request is still pending with no way of deleting it.
Time is now running out.

What happened to the Edit function?
I see. You can edit everything but the INITIAL post.
I would of deleted this thread.
The problem here seems to have been confusion all around.
Why place "Do not reply" in the header of an important email though?
It's misleading and makes the email appear to be spam like.
The compuhost user panel could be a bit more user friendly too.

i have to agree that computinghost support is a little slow and confusing at times because the support does not read our specific requests and assumes things we didn't even say. i just learned to bare with it and be patient because as far as i am concerned, their services are good when connected to trap.
i know that doesn't help your current situation, but it's nothing to get your panties in a twist over. if there is some major problems with support in your situation, what i would do is talk to opaque personally and let him handle it if time is indeed running out.
as far as the edit feature, where have you been? haha it was taken out a while back but you still have 10 minutes to edit your post as soviet had said. no biggie....

Thanks for the replies. I am just a little concerned because the domain name in question is going to
expire soon.
Then again, if it does I don't really care. As soon as I get somethings out of the way I'm going to
rebuild, building just one site geared for traffic, rather than concentrating on a whole bunch at once.
The internet can be a headache sometimes.

Hi Networker,
The domain name transfer process involves a step where you approve the Transfer. To do this, an email is sent to your Registrant email in your whois account. The approval is done from your-end.
If you can give me your ticket ID, I will investigate further.

It looks like it's okay now. Thanks anyway.
I over reacted. I wanted to delete,or at least edit this post just after I posted it.
They've been really good at compuhost. When I freak out I don't discriminate, I treat
everybody badly, equally.lol.
Also thanks for everything OpaQue. Trap17 is really, really good.

well if your worried because it's going to expire soon, why transfer it now anyway? use some mycents to renew it, and then if you need to transfer it, you can do it after you have paid for another year
Everything should be alright now though. There is actually plenty of time left really.

Hi!
Does transferring a domain cost anything at all? If I get a domain name from a domain registrar and want to transfer it to ComputingHost/Xisto, or vice-versa, do either of the firms charge for the transfer? What about a transfer to a different owner i.e. for updating the contact information associated with the domain name?
I have never really had a problem with Xisto support, but then again, I haven't done much with the hosting package that I got.
