You can try this...

Quote

A. CHANGING WORKGROUP NAME ON MAC

1. System Preferences > Network.
2. Select "Edit Locations" from the Location dropdown menu.
3. Create a copy of your current active location.
A. Select your active location from the list in the Location sheet. The active location is usually called Automatic, and may be the only entry in the sheet.
B. Click the sprocket button and select ‘Duplicate Location’ from the pop-up menu.
C. Type in a new name for the duplicate location or use the default name, which is ‘Automatic Copy.’
D. Click the ‘Done’ button.
4. Click the "Advanced" button > Select "WINS" tab.
5. Enter your workgroup name (any name you want to use) in the "Workgroup" area.
6. Click OK > Apply.

B. ENABLE PRINTER SHARING ON XP

1. START > ‘Printers and Faxes’ (This will give you a list of printers and faxes connected/installed on the computer.)
2. Right-click on the printer you wish to share and select "Sharing" from the pop-up menu.
3. Choose the "Share this printer" option
4. Enter a name for the printer in the "Share name" field. (This will be the name that will appear on the Mac.)
5. Hit the "APPLY" button.

C. ADD THE PRINTER TO THE MAC

1 . System Preferences > Print & Fax
2. Click the (+) Sign below the Installed Printer and Fax on the Window that appears.
3. A Printer Browser window will appear, click the WINDOWS icon.
4. Select the Workgroup name on the first column. (The same workgroup name you set on Step A.
5. Click the name of the computer where the printer is installed. (Enter login information of the XP computer if it asks you to.)
6. Select the printer that will be shared. (Third column)
7. From the Print Using dropdown menu, select the driver that the printer needs.
8. Click the ADD button.

You may now try printing from the Mac.
